My first review of this was 1 star and was unhappy with the product as described. In Short some devices will charge or get power through and some will not. Chromecast does.....In a update. Unexpectedly I was amazed that this adapter works perfectly with Both Google Cast Video and Audio devices. V1 and V2 of the video dongles! All you need is a USB Ethernet adapter with a AX88179 chip set. Like the J5 Create 10/100 USB Ethernet adapter pick one up cheap on Amazon! This is way cheaper than buying Google's Ethernet adapter for 15 USD. And you get the option to use any power source unlike the Google Ethernet plug in device as it is hardwired for US power points.It does not work however as described. No work on any of my Android tablets. I have several makes. None of my Samsung phones. S5 and under. Not my Amazon FTV Stick. (unless you King Root) * I do not recommend that!.All in all I has happy I never threw these away as now I am happily using them for my Chromecast devices being hardwired and this helps with buffering and streaming HD while sneaking around on Smart DNS on a 100 Mbs Fibre connection in NZ. Works great as advertised. Used it in conjunction with a microusb cable to power external hard drive. The male micro USB end is raised which makes it perfect to use with cases on your devices. I use mine on my Samsung Table S2 and my S7 edge. You can not charge your host device with this. It is designed to apply power to external devices like hard drives.I ordered a 90 degree right model but a left model was shipped. When I wrote the seller a new adapter was shipped immediately.

Works well as an otg usb connector. However, it wouldn't charge and use otg at the same time on my Galaxy S4.It might work for some phones for both but I doubt it will work on most.After doing some research there is a standard resistor value that must be used according to the USB specification. I believe it was around 36k ohm. It needs to go between the ID/Sense and ground of the micro usb connector.Also, certain companies change this value so you need to spend close to $100.00 on their docks.Samsung uses 64.9k ohm. I made my own connecter using two resistors that added up to 65k ohm and it worked. Recognized it as a Samsung dock ;) .I think Sony uses 100k ohm.So good luck finding a cable/dock that will do both for your device.

IF YOU DONT KNOW WHAT THIS IS FOR DON'T BUY IT.Looking at other reviews it seems people are blaming the seller for their own incompetence.This is a USB-OTG adapter which allows you to charge your phone at the same time. OTG charging is entirely device and android version dependent. For example, my device is a nexus 5 with a custom compiled version of android 5.1.1 in which I specifically included patches for OTG charging; and wouldn't you know it this product works PERFECTLY.Make sure your device is compatible with USB-OTG charging and you will not have an issue. Seller was extraordinarily prompt with shipment and delivery, and the product was the exact one pictured.

I primarily got this for use with my smartphone. As you may be aware many snart phones no longer feature internal micro SD slots hence no ability to expand the memory to store music etc. The fact that the micro USB plug stands proud of the body is actually a bonus when you have a hard case on your phone as it allows it to still plug in without fouling the case.The other things I like about it is that you can still charge your phone with it still plugged in thanks to the power pass through socket underneath. Also it's OTG ready meaning that its a simple job to root your phone to allow it to work.That said, its probably not the sort of thing you want to leave plugged into your phone permanently. The delicate nature of the plug and socvket means it could be bent or damaged easily.All in all, a worthwhile purchase and good value for money (unlike the dual ended USB stick that i also purchased which can't be plugged in because it fouls the case).

The design of the thing is great and it's pretty sturdy. but there's something wrong with the USB port. At first I struggled to plug in my USB device and I had to push it really hard. Everything worked. Then when I tried removing the USB jack it broke! I really wish it wasn't like this. But this is a total waste of money. I didn't complain to the seller because at least it got the job done! But do not buy if you're planning to use it regularly and not destroy your device in the process!

This angled micro USB OTG was not the best buy I made. The OTG capability has worked for me and I can transfer files from my USB Flash drive onto my phone or vise versa, however, when I plugged it in my phone it was not so secure into the phone port. It is supposed to charge via the micro USB female port (with your own wire), but it does not work. This was the main reason I got this one in particular and I am not happy about that. Its small and doesn't have any sort of lanyard hole so it easily lost. Other than those issues its and OK product.

I got these angled adapters for my tablet - to use one of my wireless keyboards with mouse set... and I couldn't be happier!!! The adapter allows for me not to have to hold my tablet with both hands - now, I put it in a tripod and use my mouse! It is helping my neck and shoulders, so I would definitely recommend buying.
