This is exactly what I needed to prime my filters with.The instructions were of little use but it really is not hard to figure out. Attach the tube to the filter and submerge the filter in water. Squeeze the bulb until water starts squirting out the end. Then give it a few more squeezes and you are done priming your filter.It is doubtful that the filters could’ve been primed in any other way I tried. Gets the job done.

Out of service at the second use.First use looked great,but I had two use it again for the second time within three weeks,then the top side won’t hold the tube pipe in place firmly,the pipe/tube jumps out each time I tried to pump the pump.I will be returning this item.I guess it’s meant for a single use.

I struggled numerous times for the past few years trying to prime the carbon filters in the Berkey to the point where I was going to throw the entire Berkey in the trash!! OUCH!!! It's so difficult to prime the filters UNLESS you buy this Gunneran Black Primer!! I purchased a less expensive version from another supplier and it leaked air and wouldn't work SO I sent it back and bought THIS one which works amazingly well! Just put the carbon filter to be primed in a container filled with water and attach the one end with the screw on attachment to the top of the filter and start squeezing the bulb until water gets sucked through the filter and out of the other end of the primer!!! Unbelievable!!! PLEASE save yourself frustration and get this. It will make your life so much easier AND you'll resist the urge to throw YOUR Berkey in the trash!!

Hex nut does not thread onto Black Berkey Elements and air pressure is pathetic. Seller states that they will help if there are any issues, but there is no contact info at all. Save your money, efforts, and returns and go to the best distributor Berkey USA for best deal and legit product.

In my emergency evacuation kit, 🥴, I have a small water purifier and Burkey black filter, which I love for purifying small amounts of water. When you first use the filter it has to be primed using faucet water, or if it slows down really bad, it may need to be primed again. But if you have no access to running water, this will provide you with a tool to prime your filter, so very much a necessity!

I liked the fact that it did the job I bought it for. I was able to filter water like a champ.
