I recently went on a 3 day road trip. 3.5 hours of driving each way. My back is not great to begin with, and by the time I got to my hotel room, I was walking slightly hunched over.The first thing I did was grab this massager to really try it out. I was unable to do it myself, so I laid on the bed and my girlfriend used it up and down my back. Applied pressure to my lower back felt wonderful! It also helped ease the tension in my shoulders. I also used it on my thighs, calves and the bottom of my feet. It really helped to relieve the stress from a very long drive.

This is a tool that can be used to release knots, stimulate circulation and gently ease pain especially for your back and shoulder area. My husband was complaining that his back felt tense and uncomfortable. I used the roller stick on a few painful muscles and as an overall massage tool. Initially, the knots on his back didn’t respond to the light pressure of the Gua Sha Tool but using it on the specific spots by gently applying pressure, created a deep tissue remedy that seemed to release their hold. I’d recommend you have some training to use this tool properly. If you do I think it has a function and purpose that’s fairly self explanatory.

Surprised it seems the wood finish has some kind of smell, not unpleasant but was not hoping for that. Applied some oil to it for massage and that covered some of it.It’s great to relive tension from exercise or sitting in an office chair all day

Maybe I’m not the person who enjoys deep massages like this, but I find it hard to get a good feeling massage with this when using it by yourself. When my husband massaged my back it felt a lot better but when attempting to use it myself I didn’t enjoy.Yet my husband works out and then likes to massage his legs with it and he likes that for muscle soreness so it all just depends on the person. It is good quality a solid piece of wood for sure, obviously smoothly sanded down lol. If I knew someone who possibly tried mine and liked it I wouldn’t mind ordering again!

I previously tried a similar wood-ball type tool, but I liked that one a bit better -- it had a double row of wood balls, rather than a single row. I also found this particular tool to have several small rough areas on the wood where it isn't completely sanded or sealed. It's not enough to significantly impact the use of the tool, and it still slid okay over my skin without causing irritation. I preferred to use this over clothing, as it seemed to slide better.This is best used with two hands, and if you're using it on yourself, you are limited to areas you can easily reach. I found the massage quick and very stimulating. It left my muscles and skin feeling tingly and seemed to improve circulation, particularly on my legs, where I have the most problems.The other uses of the tool, such as using the end of the handle for trigger point massage, is a bit of a stretch. It didn't work very well for that on my body. The handle is just a bit cumbersome and the end isn't ideally shaped for trigger point pressure.The current price of $23 is "ok," but I would expect a fully sanded and polished tool for that price.
