Very easy to use
I just picked up this book to use alongside Pro Tools 9 MP. The book is very easy to read, and the index is very complete. I haven't started to read through it in order, but I have referred to it with quick questions while working on mixes, and found that the answers were right there. Well-written. I am looking forward to diving all the way into this book.

Everything I Needed!
I purchased this book for a class and it did the job. Even if you are learning on your own this is a great tool as it gives step by step instructions and has great projects included. This will prepare you for the Pro Tools 101 exam if you have a way to take any practice tests. Good luck!

Working for me
This book is basically doing what I had hoped for. I am new to Pro Tools, and this book has went a long way in helping me to get started. It is actually a school text book, which I did not realize when I bought it, so if you are not a self-learner type, it may not be your cup of tea. I have had a few instances where the text never actually tells you how too perform a certain function. I also feel the book is a little pricey.

Book is OK but kind of lacking
I upgraded from LE7 to 9 this book seemed to be the logical choice based on reviews and author. For someone who has never worked with Pro Tools before I think this book is going to be a lacking it seems to leave out some of the basics to get you started easily. I think if the book took a more user friendly step by step approach it would more novice friendly. The other problem I have is the screen shoots are small, text hard to see, they should of enlarged them. I'm basing my review comparing Pro Tools 101 Official Courseware, Version 9.0 to Pro Tools for Musicians and Songwriters author Gina Fant-Saez. ( book is for LE7 not 9) Gina book is written in a step by step style explaining everything in detail very simple to understand. The Pro Tools 101 Official Courseware IMO is more of a text book style if you were sitting in a classroom it would be the right book. Pro Tools 101 is still a good book, good information in it but like I stated earlier, previous Knowledge is a prerequisite IMO.

Great for someone just upgrading
I just recently purchased the Pro-Tools 10 full version (not upgrade). I find this very helpful for me to browse and find all the new stuff. I went to PT-10 from PT8-LE.

Informative. The lay out of the book and order of the topics flows nicely and is easy to comprehend. Very good for hands-on classroom setting.

Worth Every Penny
Seriously if you are new to pro tools just buy it and work through every exercise. Read it cover to cover then do it again.
