can I use it on 220 volt?

I'm using on a 220 now with a converter, fan mode1&2 are the same, mode 3 makes a slight gurgling noise and is about half the speed of 1&2. Note, my converter is set into adapter mode and if I turn the converter on the fan runs super slow.

Can this fan be removed from the base? I was interested in attaching the fan to a drum stand.

It can definitely be removed from the stand. I've done it. You just need to unscrew the small thumb screw that attaches the swivel mount to the stand. It's on there really tight, so you may need to use pliers.

Which is stronger...this fan or the vornado 133?

CFM (cubic feet per minute) - for the 133 is H: 114, L: 85 CFM - for the Pivot - H:44 M:35, L:18

What is the diamiter of the rod that the the fan is rigged on?

The fan itself is heavy...way too heavy for the bar it's attached to to hold it together without it making a rattling noise DON'T BUY!!
