Machinist Square Set Engineer Precision Mini Wide Base 90 Degree Right Angle Ruler Hardened Steel 4 Pieces, Silver (BG-0326)

I purchased these Boomgood machinist squares not quite sure what the quality would be. Well, I'll cut to the chase and tell you they are fantastic, accurate and an overall solid tool.They come in their own plastic cases for storage and safekeeping. The squares themselves are impressive considering their overall cost. Good solid metal, excellent machining with no burrs. They are truly 90 squares, and super easy to place against a piece of wood or metal to mark for an accurate cut or other measuring. It's generally not easy to get excited about squares, but these are excellent quality at a good price--currently $28.99 here on Amazon.These are such good quality that I will be ordering another set to make sure I have another set in my metal working tool box.If you're looking for a nice set of squares, I would highly recommend these 5-star items.

Great quality squares

I was a little skeptical about how square they would be but I was very pleasantly surprised that all the squares in the set were perfectly square. Each one weighs differently based on size but not uncomfortably so, well balanced. Can’t wait to start my next project to really put them to the test. I’m glad that each one has its own protective case, only thing I would change on that is their not exactly locked in place so if you drop the case there is a good chance it will move out of place, but other than that small detail I’m very pleased with these.

Squareness = 3 out of the 4. The 63, 80, and 100mm squares are dead on. Heavy Duty construction. For 4 machinist squares I wasn’t expecting them all to be square. Being that the longest @ 160mm is not square (or usable) is not surprising. What is surprising is that the other 3 are. For that reason I’ll be keeping this set.For the woodworking that I do, the 3 that are spot on are all I really need and the price is something I’m still okay with, about $10 per square at that point. I can set my table saw and miter saw blades to 90° from the tables and miter fence, double check board edges to face, and the vertical edge of mitered cuts.Although it would’ve been really nice to have the long 70mm inside leg to register against on occasion, the other 3 being perfect with get me where I need to be 90% of the time. If a longer machinist square is needed I’m okay with getting just one, but I do know that is ridiculously hard to find.The long square is off by 1/16”. I have no idea what I’ll end up doing with it. The heavy duty, thick bar stock is not going to be easy to just throw away.

I wasn’t sure these would be very square but I am very happy with them. Handy to have in my shop.

I now keep these in my toolbox for chores away from my shop. The two smaller ones are expecially handy when working in cramped locations.

Did I need them when I bought them? Nope... did I need one a week later? Yup? Are they square? idk? didn't check. Are they square with what I was checking? Yup...Nice set, nice price, wish all hobby machinist tools were this good and affordable.
