Don’t rush it. A second soak in sugar water makes it perfect!
I spent probably 2 hours deciding which boba to buy and I’m SO happy I went with this one!For delivery: Mine came air vacuumed, heavily bubble wrapped, in a tough box. Not dent or bump on it. Plus it came with a note saying it is fragile and if it was damaged to let them know and they will replace it!For preparing: It’s amazing if you follow instructions. Here’s my detailed advice for perfect boba:Make sure to boil enough water and make sure it’s a heavy rolling boil. Make sure to use a bigger pot because you want it hot so a lot of the water boils out. Carefully get it out of the package and add it in.THEY DO EXPAND. Don’t add too much or you’ll waste some- my first attempt I did enough for 5 people to be have almost too much.Add in little by little. (I do it with a spoon). Stir!! I set my Alexa timer and stir every 3-5 minutes- make sure they don’t stick. The initial one when you put it in stops them from clumping. Sometimes I boil it an extra 2-3 minutes. One last stir.Cover. Like rice- you don’t want to let the heat or steam escape. Stir good, cover, then remove from heat. Set another timer 25-30 minutes. Leave it alone.Put in a small strainer. Rinse with cold water until the gel it creates is gone. Rinse for 1-2 minutes while swooshing it in circles. I use my sprayer to get it a little harder and speed it up.They are not sweet. If you want to add some sweetness to it and make them even softer keep going.Rinse your pan well and wipe it out. Add it cool water and dissolve sugar in it. I add it a good amount (think koolaid) because it needs it to absorb the flavor. Add your boba back in. Lit sit for 30 minutes to an hour depending your taste.I make chai at this point (I found some instant vanilla chai that is amazing with it - big train vanilla chai- stir it well with milk; still looking for other flavors)Once the time is up you add it in with a spoon and make sure to drain out the sugar water.Add in your boba straw and your set.It takes a while and we don’t always do the second soak but I add some time to the first one then.TLDR; don’t rush, treat it like rice with the resting it after. A second soak in sugar water makes it sweeter and softer!

Dont buy its all blobs and clumps no boba
Horrible. We opened the package followed instructions but this was a blob mess. No pearls everything just powdery and they dissolve in the water. Do not recommend and wish I could get my money back.

EXACTLY the tea-shop quality bobba you are looking for!!
These bobba are EXACTLY what you get at the tea shops. The quick 5-minute bobba sold from other vendors are close, but not the same as the shops but this is 100% it! Takes about 45 mins to make, but well worth the wait. Make sure to pour out on a flat surface and remove broken bobba before cooking - also ONLY ADD TO BOILING WATER! If you add to water less then boiling they instantly crumble into mush.TOP NOTCH CUSTOMER SERVICE!! I purchased these and got two factory sealed bags, however the experation date was only about 30 days in the future. After opening, about 20% of the balls were falling apart. Reached out to manufacture and returned for a replacement with a much more recent manufacture date.

Delicious boba
Some batches from this brand are bad. This is my fifth bags now, the first bag is great, I love it. The second and third bags don’t stay in the ball shape when you cook them. I even dropped them in boiling water and they still bind together and don’t stay in shape. I am disappointed they’re not the same quality as my first bag. What I ended up having to do is to separate them by hands after cooking. However, the customer service is great. I reached out to the seller about the issue, and they sent me a replacement that is the same quality as the first bag. Yummy

Better than other brands
Boba stayed more in tact. They are still delicate. Keep in mind they are supposed to be made with almost purely tapioca starch so no matter what, real uncooked boba should be handled delicately. I can’t speak for other people’s packages but mine arrived with each pack wrapped in bubble wrap and the pearls were not damaged. If people think the pearls are oddly delicate then they don’t know boba and how to cook it. Don’t listen to reviews that say the boba is not good because it crumbles (since that is what real boba will do if not handled carefully). Cleanest ingredient list of all boba brands I’ve come across. For the reviews that say it didn’t work then they didn’t follow the instructions. The instructions clearly state to filter crushed boba if there are any and to put it in boiling water (make sure it is a rolling boil). I cannot speak against those who received damaged boba out of the package but from my experience this first purchase was well worth it. Beware of the ignorant comments about tapioca pearls. They are more expensive than buying them from a local wholesale store in Hawaii but they were definitely worth the try and if they are ever available in Hawaii I would for sure buy them.

Revised review-
This Fanle “US Boba” is not the same as the actual US Boba Company (started by the guys in SF CA)… labels and ingredients are different. This version has preservatives- gives me pause as to its authenticity… that said *maybe* it’s legit and a different version for commercial distribution? (I also get the original version from the online tea company that the Boba Guys also run) - as far as i can tell they don’t have a version like the one Fanale is selling… so buyer beware.. that said- this boba (us made or not) does cook well and is equivalent to the commercial boba you get at a chain shop.Do not try to cook them in the insta pot they will disintegrateYou have to have the water at a rolling boil before you add it - add it gently and it will cook easily- boul for 20-30 min and then simmer with lid on another 20… rinse - you don’t really have to stir it much-just give it a gentle whirl in the beginning and they will float to the top…if you do stir it- do it gently because you will cause it to break apart…Cooking time will determine how soft they areIf you chill them- or save unused portions for later- you must keep them in syrup and you must microwave them to get soft again
