Easy fix for analog stick drift repair

Solved my Xbox Series X controller stick drift! The installation takes a little while but isn’t crazy difficult. I don’t do electronics repairs but I watched a YouTube video and replaced the sensor without soldering, so I’m happy.

After spending weeks of trying to figure out how to fix the joystick drift on my Xbox One series X I ran acrossed a YouTube video that linked me to these. To say the least, it totally fixed my joystick drift!The only downsides are that about half of the springs had fallen out of the green enclosures so I don't even know if those springs work and the sticks don't read 100% center but at least the joystick drift is gone.

I replaced the one bad potentiometer on my Xbox series X controller and it's perfect! No drift and shows perfectly centered when tested. On the older Xbox controllers it can be hit and miss due to the factory calibration that cannot be changed, but it's cheap enough to try, and works perfectly on the new series controllers.

I bought these to address the stick drift for an Xbox Elite gen 1 controller and they ultimately did not solve my issue.The bag came with the advertised 20, but I’d say at least 5 of the potentiometers did not read 10k resistance across the pins so I trashed those.I soldered several in that weren’t defective but could not get them to fix my drift and in some cases caused the controller’s drift to worsen.After closer examination it appears that these potentiometers are not the same quality that Microsoft uses in their controllers. This is especially the case for “wiper” piece. I noticed it doesn’t fit the joystick as snuggly, which contributed to dead zones in my tests.All in all, after several tries replacing the potentiometers from this kit I abandoned them completely and opted to swap in an OEM donor joystick assembly from another controller which corrected my stick drift.I’d return these potentiometers if I could. Total waste of $10 for me.

Described as 20 pieces only received 15. I have not tested them yet but they are what I ordered just not the correct amount.

I am no tech guru, but my pink ps4 controller thumbstick sensors were wore out & the stick drift was really bad. I took the controller apart several times and swapped sensors around *haha I know stupid*, but I was desperate to try anything for a temporary fix until I could find and order the right parts. I dont have a machine to melt the metal pieces either so, after thoroughly scowering the internet for the sensor pieces I found this seller who luckily had them! I just got then in the mail today I took all 4 of my old sensors out and put a fresh set in and so far so good it works like a brand new controller I didnt even need to put the green casings in I just replaced the white sensors. I will give updates over time but right now I am so excited to feel like I dont have to throw my controller away because between both sticks having the drift, to things getting worse, this solution just made it a little easier and money saving. I recommend if this is a similar solution to you. I read many reviews and some had mixed feelings but seeing as though stick drift was really my only issue at the time b4 I started tinkering it is the best solution for a few dollars than outright buying a new controller just saying.
