Best GF Pasta
I've tried a variety of grain and bean based pasta and thus far this has been the tastiest. The flavor pairs well with many dishes like Chicken Marsala, Pasta Ala Vodka, and Spaghetti and Meatballs among many others. These noodles like most noodles do give off a slight aroma that I personally love.I feel these noodles are versatile due to how evenly they cook. Unlike wheat, corn, or rice noodles where you are cooking until the noodle has a bit of a bite left, with these noodles with how evenly they cook you can adjust the cook time more generously to how much or little firmness you want in your noodle. I found that these noodles hold up pretty well compared to many other non-gluten based noodles. Just note that you do want to handle these noodles with dry hands as wet hands will cause them to clump together and create a chore for you.The texture of these noodles is fantastic. If you cook them to Al Dente (the same bite as you'd get out of wheat noodles), they have a very pleasing feedback on the teeth similar to that of wheat noodles. They aren't as elastic compared to wheat noodles due to the lack of gluten so they do breakdown quicker but at that point it is not a negative but a positive as they require less chewing overall. Getting a satisfying bite while being easier to process is a win-win in my book. The nutrition of these noodles is also a huge plus. Being only a single ingredient noodle packed with protein and carbs should help people meet their daily nutritional requirements. Being certified GF and using a dedicated facility means that quality is taken seriously. Even if you don't have an allergy, you know that the lines these products are produced on are cleaned and tested properly.

Maintains texture, unlike the earlier generations of chickpea-based pasta.Tons of protein.Normal cook time.Tastes great.Pricey but not as pricey as the tiny quantities in the supermarket.

Different Taste But Good
OK texture and flavor. Better used with Asian rather than Italian cooking. A little bit pricey.

Appreciate the selection!
The barilla red lentil pasta is good for people following the SCD and GAPS diet. It comes out great and is such a treat for someone who hasn't been able to eat pasta in years since the usual gluten free options are not SCD compliant. It's expensive but well worth it. I will be purchasing again. Some of the shapes are available at specialty grocery stores but I've only found the spaghetti on amazon which I appreciate for serving with meatballs :)

Very tasty pasta
You get 3 spaghetti, and 3 penne pasta, so they are a little over $3 a box. Very reasonable price when you consider they are made out of red lentil beans. Only problem I have is, I wanted just spaghetti noodles not penne pasta. I guess I could eat them with spaghetti sauce. I am not sure what else to do with them at this point in time. The spaghetti is great if you are allergic to wheat/grains like I am. They taste so much better than chickpea pasta. Meijer used to sell red lentil pasta but I can't get them there anymore. I am so glad to be able to order this online.

Love THIS Red Lentil Pasta Collection.SNEAKY PROTEIN
Since discovering the Barilla Red Lentil pastas, I USE ONLY THIS PROTEIN PACKED PASTA, in all its shapes and sizes. It holds up in hot dishes like spaghetti, as well as in any Summer pasta salads. It's my way of "cheating" some extra protein into my diet, since I am not a huge meat eatter. Nobody has ever questioned it as being different, even the kids, and I do not announce its source ingredient in advance. I have actually converted a couple people through the YEARS of cooking with Barilla's Red Lentil pastas, including a friend's vegitarian teen son!

One of my go-to replacements for standard pasta
I eat a lot of lentils and do not touch pasta anymore. I use a heart of palm noodle quite a bit, but these are just as good a pasta fix, if not better. Great way to healthy carbs. I will do some garlic/butter/parmesan noodles or a tomato cream sauce and generally do not notice a difference for the most part other than it is red-colored and a slightly firmer bite than al dente pasta. I am a fan and get this regularly. Well worth trying if you are trying to get a cleaner, healthier version of pasta. Keep in mind, these are not low-carb, but they are healthy carbs.
