The best book on leadership on the market!
I’m a big fan of all of Mark’s books, especially ‘Hiring for Attitude’ and ‘Truth at Work,’ but as I don’t currently hold a formal position of leadership, I wasn’t sure how I’d use a book on leadership styles. I read it anyway and I’m glad I did. Leadership is more about influence and relationship than it is power, or control or a formal title, and I think everyone can benefit from learning how to take a good look within in order to do a better job at earning that influence and cultivating those relationships to create greater work success.Per usual, Mark walks his readers through a no-nonsense, science-backed treatise complete with an arsenal of tools and scripts and tips and techniques that get you started even while you’re still reading. I definitely identified with the softer, more socially focused Diplomat style of leadership; I like when everyone gets along and is happy in their work. But whether you’re a Diplomat, a Pragmatist, an Idealist or a Steward, you’ll find that while your preferred leadership style works great in lots situations, and Mark clearly identifies many of them, there are also situations where you’ll benefit from developing an understanding of how the other styles operate. I’m definitely going to run meetings a lot differently after reading this book and I now know how to extricate myself from being pulled into the role of mediator when those around me are in dispute and should be problem solving on their own. This is a book you’ll want to pass around the workplace and invite others to have open conversations about. Just like knowing someone’s communication style or personality style, learning how those around you prefer to lead goes a long way towards creating a more effective and harmonious workplace. It’s also a great tool for opening up positive conversations with your own boss about what you need in the way of leadership to more fully engage in your work.

Very good book based on real life examples
The author really nailed the different leadership styles and then backed up with lots of very good examples, which generated lots of “AHA” moments for me.It is very well structured, you can really understand your own style, then understand in which circumstances can you enbrace your own and when should you use some techniques from the others. Really recommend this practical handbook to everyone!

From Elon Musk to Jeff Bezos to Sheryl Sandberg
Mark's other books helped me understand, motivate, and deal with other people. This book is helping me understand myself and how my personality motivates -- and demotivates -- the people around me. I've often shared Mark's books with the leaders in my company and other business owners. This is the first one I want to share with my husband and kids so it can help them to interact better with the people in their lives.

Great Book
I liked the explanation of the 4 leadership styles, and their pros and cons in the workplace. This book, I would recommend to leaders and employees alike. Each side can benefit from the ideas and knowledge within these pages. My reason for the rating was the delving into each leadership style, the big corporation leaders that fit into each style and the way the book held my attention (read it in one sitting).
