$60 Socks
These socks may be the best socks I've ever seen in real life - and I'm an old man! They are very thick, very soft and very warm. AND THEY ARE WOOL!I use wool socks when I go backpacking and I take them to wear at night when I sleep to keep my feet warm. I had an old pair that the soles were wearing out, so I bought these. THESE ARE BETTER!If I was a millionaire I would only wear these socks. I hope I am wearing these socks when I die but I probably won't be.

best sleeping socks ever!
i bought these to use for sleeping, and have been using them for that since christmas (2015).these socks have surpassed my expectations. they're soft and warm but not too warm if that make sense.i had frostbite a number of years ago and can't stand having my feet uncovered or pressure on any part of them while i sleep. i bought these socks in size 13 for that reason, i usually wear size 11.5. i keep them under my pillow and slip them on right before bed and take them off when i get up in the morning.i can tell they'd be great for keeping your feet warm in boots when it's well below zero (fahrenheit). they'll stay up just because they're so thick. and feel great all day.protip: don't lace your boots tight in the cold. i know from experience.the only con i can think of is that brand new they're a little tough to get on the first time, getting past your heel will be a tight fit. buy them like i did one size to 1.5x the size you really are.the only improvement i can think of would be to have a soft leather patch added to the soles so i can feel ok about walking around the house with them on in the mornings. but i might not ever take them off if they had that. :)i'm probably going to buy a couple more pairs of these in the near future.[Update: 10 Oct. 2017]i've had these socks for a long while now and i still love them :)these are the best socks i have ever bought and i'm ordering a few more to share with family.

Not durable
I have been wearing 100% ragg wool socks since I was a kid 40 years ago. I had hoped these would be like that. I received my pair at the end of November and I already wore holes in them by April. I probably wore them about 35-40 times, alternating between them and two other pairs of wool socks (one 100%, the other admittedly may have some nylon) which both superseded and outlasted them, and I washed them as directed. If anything, I sometimes get holes in the toes or the heels but these wore thin at the ball of my foot. I don't know if they need to be felted better, knit tighter, made from more durable wool, or some combination thereof, but they are not durable socks and I cannot recommend them. Especially disappointing given the price, which I would happily pay for good sturdy socks!

Very good 100% wool socks
Before I begin, I want to point out that these 100% wool socks are two ply. The title and description does not mention this. I know this because the seller has a dedicated website where other wool products are sold. Just query Sweater Chalet with your favorite search engine and you'll find these wool socks, along with care instructions.I bought these wool socks for my winter bicycling. I first worn them in 25-28 degree Fahrenheit weather with about 8-10 mph wind, riding for 30 minutes. It kept my feet warm overall, but my toes did get really cold. Granted I didn't wear winter shoes or boots, just some semi-insulated sneaker. In addition the socks did not feel itchy, except when my feet began sweating. The following day it got colder, 20 degrees Fahrenheit with 10-15 mph wind, so I wore a 100% cotton dress sock as a liner underneath the wool socks. Same effect with the same sneakers. My toes became cold, but still kept my feet warm overall. I'll try it out again but with better insulated sneakers/boots and report back my experience. Finally these socks are somewhat thick, so they have a very snug fit in shoes/sneakers. Probably more so with boots. You will have to loosen the laces to allow your feet to comfortably fit.

These socks do not dissapoint
Warm socks are hard for me to find these days, that's until I came across these handmade Dachstein Woolwear ones.My feet are always cold due to poor circulation and between living at my home in Newport RI and Vermont I needed something get me through the coldest days and these seem to be the ones.I wore these yesterday while taking our last sail for the year and I have to say I didn't feel any coldness on my feet at all. When I got home I removed my Boots and my feet were still dry as well that's even after my boots getting wet.Though it's not cold enough just yet I do think that these will keep my feet very warm .I can't wait to test these up in the Mountains in Vermont.I am definitely ordering more because not one pair of winter socks I have can even come close to these. It's almost laughable all the money I have dished out over the years buying what I thought was top quality socks for the Winter that guarantee to keep feet warm. These socks are the ones and only ones I have that are truly warm.If your tired of searching for the warmest socks out there I would suggest starting here. These don't dissapoint. The seller is exceptional too. They packaged these so nice along with a nice note.Arrival time was about two days! Super fast!

Happy lady
I bought them a large size 12 on purpose to wear to bed and around the house when I get up in the morning. My feet get very cold in the winter months and only 100% wool socks keep them warm. I also wanted to get as much wool as I could for the money. :-) I got them in red. They are very sturdy socks, not flimsy at all . I have big calves so can't pull them all the way up but they do stretch a bit. Like I mentioned earlier they are for the sole purpose of keeping my feet warm at night so not concerned about the pulling them up all the way part. Looking forward to purchasing more in the future and yes you get a nice thank you note and sample cleansing detergent with socks
