Oxalic Acid for Wood Bleach - 99.9% Pure Fine Powder - 2 lbs - Highly Effective Multipurpose Cleaner - Used as a Wood Stain Remover and Rust Remover - Industrial Grade Strength

Having a bunch of fun using this to remove rust from old tools. The quality seems normal. By which I mean I don’t have an analysis protocol to say for sure how perfectly it is what it says, but it looks & behaves differently from malic & citric acid. The crystals seem to be uniformly sized, a bit smaller than kosher salt flakes. When I forget to wear gloves, the back side of my fingernails stains brown and I have indifferent luck scraping it clean. (the nail extending from the end, not the nail bed. I suspect it’s reacting to something on the nail even tho I use a nail brush at least daily.) If you want to de-rust iron, this is one workable option.

So far, the oxalic acid wash has produced acceptable results. Due to the extent of the stains, it required a couple treatments of the acid before the stains were reduce to an acceptable level. I believe the product is of good value my woodworking shop and would recommend it to others.

This has become my go-to oxalic acid when doing oxalic acid vaporizer treatments for varroa mites. My main reason for choosing this over other OA powders here is that this one is 99.9% (versus the typical 99.6%) pure, which reduces the likelihood of containing heavy metal compounds. Also, it has consistently maintained the lowest price for 99.9% OA. I will continue to use and recommend. I have also used this OA powder when making OA extended-release sheets (per ScientificBeekeeping). It dissolved well with warmed glycerin.

Cleans rust

Got this to fix a pee stain on my wood floors. Made it invisible.

I bought this product to fumigate my be hives against varroa mites. While waiting for the right opportunity to do so I also had a pressure treated deck that needed cleaning. Mixed 1 cup of Oxalic acid powder with a gallon of water and sprayed half the deck (ran out of mix before I covered all of it). Waited 30 minutes, then power washed the whole thing. The difference between the treated side and the untreated was remarkable. The treated side looks cleaner and brighter. Just starting to treat for mites, working so far but it will be weeks before the results are obvious.
