Easy to make & delicious

These scones were so easy to make and they were very tasty! I served these with tea and they were a hit. Even the people that said they didn't like scones actually liked these. The cherry scones were great and there were pieces of cherry throughout the scones. They were great with clotted cream!

I was very pleasantly surprised at how easy these scones were to make: mix with water, drop by heaping tablespoons and bake! I didn’t miss the fresh butter & cream at all! The batter was quite sticky, so patting out a round and cutting into triangles might be quite difficult, but the drop biscuits were great! The texture was perfect: crisp on the outside, soft in the middle. My only criticism is that they were a bit too sweet for scones, made worse by the (optional) glaze. Other than that, they were very good and would probably appeal more to American tastes.

These are close to a Kroger scone product that disappeared during Covid. I doctor the recipe a bit. I add a small amount of shaved roasted almonds, replace some of the milk for heavy cream and that makes them taste a bit closer to the product that is no longer available. I will definitely reorder! My family loves them…..but only the cherry flavor.

I used to buy Whole Foods mini scones when I lived in SF but when I moved to a semi-rural area out of the WF zone, I was lucky to find what had to be the same scones (both are made in Canada) from Target. However, the price skyrocketed over the last couple of years plus I don't always have time to travel to Target. So I tried this mix.PROS:I found it acceptable. Easy to make. I liked the cherry overtones. It isn't necessary to make a glaze but sometimes I sift a little powdered sugar over one if I want more sweetness. Also like that I got a dozen small scones out of the mix and even then, I cut one in half as a serving size so for me it's like 24. I don't like huge scones on a regular basis, just something to go with coffee.CONS: The scones are very "bready" and dense which makes it more like a taste-challenged cake than a scone. The WF/Target scones are dense but lighter in texture. Also, it contains a few dubious ingredients and oils as someone pointed out.Still, they'll work in a pinch to have on hand.

Delicious flavors: you won’t be sorry! Buy them! Plus they are lower in calories as they are not huge!
