The Perfect Husband: The Laci Peterson Story [DVD]

I had Scott Peterson, the focus of this movie, originally mixed up with Drew Peterson, the other wife killer who was the police officer in Illinois. Anyway, Scott Peterson, who killed his wife Laci who was pregnant with their son Conner, is portrayed convincingly and the movie is the way I remembered seeing it when it was on TV. Incidentally, Drew Peterson’s missing wife is named Stacy. How confusing is that?? I have both films and both are quite good.

i love this movie, im so happy they got scott petterson for the murder of his wife and son.. i hope he stays in prison for the rest of his life...... this is one of the best true movies to watch, i like true movies about abuse, so many wemon live it everyday, and they are to scared to get away from there husband, i only hope the wemon who get abused by there husband get the help they need and leave the sorry men that some are........

I was just 12 years old when this story hit the news channels. I was already watching bio channel's true crime shows at the time, and thus seeing this unfold in real time was sometimes scary as I realize that what I see on the bio channel is what this story of the Petersons were for many families and nations before.As I grew older, this case imprinted on my mind as it did for many Americans. What I didn't do, is sell my soul to the thing, and read in a frenzy everything I could on it. However, this movie I caught at age 13 on TV was always on my mind too... Now older, I ordered it just to see it again, as well as read Scott's sister's book.I found that the movie, as most movies do, took a few liberties, never the less it captured the "spirit" of the time, with wanting to believe a man is innocent, until - like the constitution says - is proven guilty. And boy is that proven. Maybe the makers did it out of convince or respect, or who knows - maybe they were forced. But I think authenticity would've given it another star on my review. Reading Anne Bird's book will fill in the blanks where this movie left them. But a few events, times, places, and even names were changed. There is one fictional prominent character in the movie that I think was supposed to be Anne Bird. And the movie changed sexes. Maybe that was Anne's personal wish. But if not, I always question movie-makers intent when they seek to make a move "inspired" or "based" or simply crediting it as "a real story," knowing full well it's not entirely true or real.

Dean Cain's portrayal of Scott Peterson was excellent. How anyone could be that callous was astounding. It's so sad to think that such a good movie.....was based on a true story. Luckily.....for society.....he's been caught and will spend the remainder of his life in gaol. Frankly, gaol is too good for him. Excellent portrayal of a very sad event. 5 stars.

I followed this on TV while it was real time and I knew he was guilty all along. I am glad they convicted him and that he will spend the rest of his days in jail.

Dean Cain was perfect as Laci's husband - Charismatic and Deadly.I would have loved the movie to go further into the case.Overall though, you can follow what's happening and its unbelievable.Very enjoyable movie but oh, so sad.

I saw this on T.V. a few years back and have been searching for it on DVD for quite some time. I watched the Scott Peterson trial on T.V. the whole way through. Dean Cain did a good job of portraying Peterson. I don't know why it took so long to get to DVD. It has been ridiculously expensive on Ebay. So happy to have been able to purchase it at a reasonable cost.
