Believe it or not, this is actually a practical, useful piece of gear. The rod has great "bend ability" and the reel is smooth and sturdy. Of course, this is not the rig if you are deep sea fishing for Marlin, but greatto have in your glove compartment if you want to toss a line in a creek or pond.

I hate to give bad reviews and really wanted to like these. I got 3. Thought my uncle would like one to carry in his glove box and I wanted one for my kayak. One extra never hurts. We can't get them put together. All the videos on assembly show the reel being set in and secured with a threaded ring that screws down to hold it tight. There is no such part included. There is a very thin ring...too narrow for threads, but it does not secure the reel. I think it would be an nice little combo for small spaces or an unplanned chance to fish. Parts seem solid. If only I could put it together.

The fishing pole was fairly decent. The reel is really cheap and feels cheap. There is no casting button. To cast let go of the handle. Then you have to hold onto the handle to prevent more line from coming out.

This was bought as a fun/gag gift for myself as a stocking stuffer. I have yet to remove it from the packaging but it looks just as it did in the advertisement. I have no doubt it will be fully satisfactory.

Havn't used it yet but looks really nice. I'm sure it will do just fine. I plan to put it in my emergency evac kit after I gather up some hooks and bait to go with it. Its very small and light weight.

Both the rod and reel is very glimsy. The reel moves side to side no matter how much you tighten the bolts. You can only use the reel it comes with. Not allowed to return unit for any reason, why?

The instructions are not very clear if there were any at all other than pictures on the back of the card. There is no way to attach the reel to The pole it comes with, unless you add a small hose clamp I myself will not buy another 1 for anybody
