Excellent 5-Gallon Buckets, Durable, Food-Safe, and Great Value I'm impressed with this set of 5-gallon buckets. They boast great quality and thick, sturdy walls, making them incredibly durable for various uses. At a reasonable price for six buckets and lids, this was definitely the best pick for my needs. They do exactly what they're intended for, and the added bonus of them being food-safe is a significant plus. My primary use for these buckets is storing Mylar bags full of food, and for this purpose, they're perfect. The lids provide a one-time complete seal upon initial installation, ensuring maximum freshness and protection, However even after you pull the freshness tab you can still reuse the lid for continued utility. While I haven't put the seal to the long-term test yet, the gasket appears to be made of a quality rubber, which gives me confidence that it will create a reliably airtight seal. The only minor point for improvement would be the handle. It could be more robust and isn't the most comfortable for prolonged carrying when the bucket is full. While the plastic might eventually show wear years down the line, for my current uses, this isn't a major concern. Overall, if you're looking for high-quality, versatile, and food-safe 5-gallon buckets with secure, reusable lids, this set is an excellent investment. Just make sure you get a lid opener and rubber mallet to go along with the buckets as these lids can be a royal pain in the butt.

Good quality and fast delivery.

I think this is really good product not only to store food but also water storage with gamma seal. Of course this product is sturdy and durable. The edge is smooth not to scratch or hurt skin during use. CA is very dry and I always thought to prepare water for in case. I bought a blue 5 gallon water storage bottle. But hard to wash and smells bad. I also realized this is perfect for washing, storage, and using water without any extra pumps. Above all, no odors from container. Just a bowl is enough to scoop over. I appreciate the manufacturer and the seller for helping me use this nice and practical product.

These buckets are so great i have centralized them into my lifestyle. I now use them for tables and trashcans. Oh do you want a shoulder high, super lightweight, oddly very stable table that you can move around instantly? fill with objects? is also great storage? compartments? Also, durability update. I meant to empty them, bring in my water supplies for winter but I wasn't well. It turns out, hey, you can just fill them entirely with water (which is super heavy) and frozen, not frozen, whatever. Buckets give no f*s. These are great buckets, also great lids. Review update 3/21/2025: I buy more buckets. Then I buy more buckets again. These are great buckets. Seems like great quality, HDPE. Seem sturdy. Nice handle. Good lids. I havent tested the plastic biproducts or any kind of chemist level stuff but have to say, i was very happily surprised with them. I keep having to replace stolen buckets.

4 stars because this bucket is great for a lot of purposes, pickling, dry storage, fermentation. My only knock on stars is that, even though in the picture it clearly seals with a "permanent" pull tab lock thing. And it doesn't clearly state that in the title/description. I do worry repeatedly opening and closing/reusing the lid will eventually damage the airlock seal, but for now it's been working great. If the lid seal begins to fail, I will probably come back and knock a star off but otherwise 5 stars if your looking for a one time use sealable tamper proof bucket!

Quality buckets. I'm using them for long term food storage and they are working great.Not sure how heavy you can stack on them with other buckets but overall great bucket for price and easy to hamer on lid with a hammer.

They have a rubber seal in the lid. Nice and heavy pails. Exactly what I expected. The seller provided a letter from the manufacturer certifying their pails are food grade, when used at room temperatures or below. UPDATE: A lot of confusion about #2 HDPE for food use. Found this info. Typical 5 gallon `food grade' buckets are made of #2 HDPE, and are opaque, not allowing light to penetrate, while often advertised or labeled as `food grade'. The typical `blue' water storage containers or barrels are also made of high density polyethylene (#2 HDPE). The thing is, if you will be storing food directly in the bucket or if you will be using the container for drinking water, be sure to verify the material is safe before you purchase. Be safe. *note To be safe, the buckets that you choose to use for food storage should be `food grade' (unless you are inserting sealed Mylar bags). All food grade buckets are made of HDPE #2 (high density polyethylene) but not all HDPE #2 buckets are food grade. Buckets that are not food grade will out-gas and leach into the container, and whatever is in the container. HDPE #2 buckets that are not food grade will have been manufactured with a non-food-grade "mold release agent". A mold release agent is what is used to help get the newly shaped plastic off of the hard mold that it was shaped from during the manufacturing process. Without the release agent, the new plastic shape will likely stick to the mold. Some mold release agents enable much faster production than others, but may be toxic to your health if later used with food stuffs. If the bucket is marked specifically as food grade or USDA approved (or FDA or NSF approved), then it is food grade. Otherwise contact the supplier or manufacturer to confirm.
