Baltimore Blocks for Beginners: A Step-by-Step Guide

The directions are clear and complete. Very useful for a beginner. The condition of the book is great. I am very pleased.

This is an attractive, informative book, but I find the title "Baltimore BLOCKS For Beginners" a bit misleading. There is one block -- that is it. Yes, there are variations -- this type of fabric instead of that type of fabric and in one case, at least, she replaces the buds at the top of the block with berries -- but, I expected six, eight, maybe even more -- different blocks -- easy ones, that a beginner could tackle without fear. The block is an easy one and -- again the book is attractive and has good directions, etc., but I think the title should have been "A Baltimore Block For Beginners", since there are instructions and patterns for only one block.

This book gives very good instructions for beginners. I was looking for something to show me how to work with small pieces. I found that on youtube.

I have yet to meet the author, but definitely plan to one day! We have mutual friends. I have finally bought the fabrics to make my very first Baltimore block. I'm chicken. But I will do it soon! The instructions are awesome.

The book is an excellent tutorial for making ONE block. The reason I'm rating this book as "okay" is because the title is misleading as it says Baltimore BLOCKS but it is actually just one block with different ways of sewing it or laying it out. I had expected several different blocks and patterns.

This book was well illustrated and enjoyed the variations for each block. Will at least create a few of these for gifts.

This book is beautifully presented but I was expecting more than one block. It did give a few slight variations but for the price I felt it was limited. Also, it did not give instructions for making a sleeve to hang up the finished article & I had to look this up on line. More patterns and ideas for using the block would have made it more fun.

This is an excellent introduction to the art of Baltimore blocks. There is only one block covered in the book, but it gives a very good grounding in the techniques.

Inspiring and very good for someone like me who is relatively inexperienced in applique techniques. Very clear and easy to follow.

Das recht dünne Buch befasst sich sehr ausführlich mit der Herstellung eines "Baltimore Blocks". Man kann es sehr gut nacharbeiten. Das Motiv, das auch auf dem Cover zu sehen ist, wird in unterschiedlichen Farbstellungen vorgestellt, und es gibt noch zwei Abwandlungen.Wer allerdings viele unterschiedliche Motive erwartet, ist hier nicht richtig.Ich gebe 5 Sterne, weil das Buch sehr gut nachvollziehbar gestaltet ist und genau das beinhaltet, was es soll: Eine genaue Arbeitsanleitung.
