I have bought two of these in the last year. The first one got chewed by our then 3 month old puppy and needed to be replaced so we ordered another one to give it a try. It lasted almost 8 months and she broke the handle after being secured to a tree briefly. The clasp isn’t that great either but it managed to keep our Ghepsky under wraps. We recycled her old one to secure her to the back seat of our Suv as it secures to her harness well. Great leash for non-crazy puppies or just a cheap leash for a chewer but there are better leashes for not much more that can handle it all and can last like the S-ET VUS pet dog leash.

You won't believe what I bought this dog chain for.! I am using it to attach to a Raccoon trap to lower and rise from my deck without getting bit. I had a coon problem on my deck robbing my bird feeders. So, I started trapping them. I first had a rope to raise and lower but the Coons kept eating my ropes. They would reach out and grab the rope, attached to the handle on the top of the trap, and pull it into the trap(wire live trap) and then just shred it to pieces.So I bought this Dog leash/chain to discourage that. Well, you guessed it, they pulled it into the trap and ate the loop handle right off of it. No, problem, it is still usable for my purposes and does the job exceptionally well, even without the handle.Now, the chain. It is heavy and chrome with a nice heavy leather-like handle. It has a larger snap latch that operates smoothly is appears to be of quality construction. I really liked the product for its sturdiness and looks. It is somewhat heavy so if you are going to use it as a dog leash:) I would not recommend it for a small dog. Just too heavy, but for a larger dog, say 30lb or larger, I think this would be a great leash.

I bought this because my dog is still in her puppy phase, & likes to chew EVERYTHING. Including leashes.... Unfortunatley she’s over 40 lbs now so she can destroy a regular leash in flash.Obviously the chain stops the chewing issue (she did try lol); I don’t use this as often as I thought I would though because it’s heavy!I don’t blame the seller for this, the leash is as described and seems high quality with a comfortable leather handle. The clip that hooks onto the collar was super stiff and wouldn’t open the first few times but is otherwise great.My recommendation to the seller- perhaps list leash size and length with a weight range you suggest for the dog that corresponds with the appropriate leash. And for dog owners- I would err on the side of a shorter length and lighter chain if you’re unsure.

This is a good dog leash. I have a new Doberman puppy at 5 months old. I cannot let her roam the house or she will get into trouble. So I have her on a leash and follow me around in the house. I can keep an eye on her. Well, not really, when she was laying on the floor under my desk she had chewed the old leash and was loose. This was the second time she has chewed a leash. When I found this all chain leash, I thought "go ahead puppy chew on this. she cannot. I only gave this 4 starts because the actual clip to cop on to the dogs collar does not feel smooth, but a little rough and tight like it is not as much a good quality. Otherwise the chain is smooth and nice to hold.

This is a revised review based on 5 months of us.It's hard to believe that brick and mortar stores don't sell 6-ft leashes any more. If you've got a big dog, you need something more than 3-4 ft. for normal walking. My big furry toddler chewed through two nylon leashes in no time so I had to go looking for something he couldn't sink his teeth into and through. This looked like it fit the bill.However, today my dog bolted after a rabbit an the leather handle snapped above the grommets. There was no noticeable fatigue beforehand, it just broke clean off. I got him back rather quick. But I would recommend a sturdier ring and a wider leather handle. I'm going to have to find a makeshift solution until I can replace the handle with something more solid.

I bought this chain leash for an energetic Golden Retriever puppy who is teething and who has already destroyed 2 fabric leashes in 2 months. I don't see him being able to damage this one at all. I have 2 issues with this leash. The first is that it is very heavy for me to use and hold him back. I may have to wear gloves because he constantly pulls. I am sure that, eventually, once he is leash-trained to heel, that won't be a problem, at which time I can go back to a lighter fabric leash. In the interim, he can't destroy this one. The second issue is the clasp, which is ridiculously difficult to open. In my opinion, the manufacturer simply used a cheaply-made part. I just don't understand why they would make a leash with a clasp that you have to work so hard to open. You should be able to do it with one hand. As it is, I have to try restraining the exuberant puppy as best as I can while trying to open and attach the clasp with both hands. By the time it s on, I am no longer interested in walking him.

Nice heavy duty chain that my dog will never be able to destroy as the last three. The weight is also noticeably much heavier. My dog also took note of this and currently does not immediately run off once leashed that way the other nylon one felt. I hope the handle that is made of (I think) leather lasts long. It is not as heavy duty as I would have expected from a heavy chain. When my dog moves around from one side to the other it twists and wish it had it had some sort of design to allow for the chain to untwist on its own and I have to untwist it manually. Regardless love the strong feel of this leash.

Very good leash. My 45 pound fox hound tends to chew on his leashes,,not this one! He is also a puller when something gets his attention and snaps retractable leashes like they are made of thread, again not this one! Nice heavy weight chain if you have a muscle dog (I hate the term bully breed), all the link joints are soldered together so there's no chance of them spreading. My only complaint would be I wish the handle was a little thicker.
