Peak Design Camera Cube (Medium)

Built like a brick out house, fits in to my Camelback ruck perfectly and the side and top access is great, the inserts are nicely designed and very flexible in their placement including some that flip up/down to give flexibility. The large is very large, but that is what I wanted and can hold a lot of gear!Price wise it's very good for the price, feels very premium and offers all the protection I could need for my lenses!

Useful item that is well made and well designed. This fits great in many carry on size luggage bags/backpacks such as the Osprey Farpoint. This means you can put a small amount of camera gear in with your regular luggage or even use it as a camera bag. It also fits exactly in my Crumpler laptop messenger bag.Yes, I've got proper camera bags but I like having this option as well.A full size DSLR with battery grip is a very snug fit though and to be honest is a little bit big but it's not a problem.You can get your Pro "trinity" lens set in here with a flash and Pro DSLR.

I don’t like dedicated camera bags. They advertise that you are carrying loads of expensive gear and often don’t have any suitable space for normal items, such as lunch or drinks.This medium cube is EXACTLY what I wanted. I will start by saying it’s big, you’ll need a large rucksack to fit this inside. The padding is excellent, I’d be confident I could throw this on the floor with my gear inside and nothing would happen.This will easily fit a large body such as a Nikon D850 with grip, or a D5 with long telephoto fitted and have room for another 3 lenses plus accessories.

I should preface this by saying that this is a well-made cube and very spacious. But therein lies the problem. I have two full frame bodies (one analog, one mirrorless) and 8 lenses to store, so I opted for the medium.The problem is it's way too deep - even for the old full-frame analogs (I have most of Nikon's older 1.4 primes). The only lens that fits well is the 135mm f/2. I can snug up the partitions to stop things moving around, but almost half the space is wasted. There are a few folding dividers that can split into two level. Even my Sigma 20mm 1.4 is swallowed. I suspect even with a 2.8 tele you'd have some headspace. Just look at the advertising photos - the "Instant Access" example shows four small lenses that will be bouncing as soon as the lid is closed.This is really a cube for wedding photographers that need to carry two big bodies and several fast lenses, or perhaps a videographer that carries a bunch of cinema primes and other equipment. For most other people I think it's going to be overkill.It's a shame because the width and height are fine, but if only it were a couple of inches shorter. I think 4 stars is reasonable - yes I returned it, but I think people would get much more use out of it if it were slightly flatter (and there is still the large model on sale for people who need more).

It is so very handy when trying to bring five lenses, a flash and a shotgun mic. Gears are very well protected and the space is efficiently utilised. With Peak Design strap, I can even carry it like a messenger bag. Works exceeding well with Peak Design 45L backpack. Well thought combo.

Bought this as an insert for my Pacsafe x40, fits perfectly so very happy.

Great item like a Tardis. Bigger than you think inside. Very well padded and great partitions too
