Polish Pottery Mug - 16 oz. Bistro - Crimson Bells

This product is perfect - artistically designed, wonderful quality and the best present ever. Every time I give these as gifts they are gratefully received.

I got this mug for my sister and she loves it. Originally I got the smaller version from another seller and it seemed small at 11oz. This one is 16 ozs. I gave both mugs to her for Christmas and she uses them both for different beverages. She was really thrilled with them and they are beautifully decorated, perfectly glazed. I love the design with the blue and red.

The vendor "Polish Pottery Gallery" (PPG for short in my review) is a major US importer of the handmade pottery from Ceramika Artystyczna; this vendor is really excellent and knows all about Ceramika Artystyczna from many years of importing their works and from multiple visits to personally meet with their management. This particular "crimson bells" design pattern is so pretty but the red flowers which are a bright contrasting crimson in the picture, on my mug are not crimson and not even red - more like a pale salmon pinkish. Only reason I give 3 not 5 stars is because I wanted the red flowers to be truly deep red like the photo, which can also be seen for this pattern at the factory's site (ceramika-artystyczna). PPG is a major distributor and explained that the redness of the flowers on it varies because of handpainting by multiple individuals, and of course slip paints in handmade items sometimes varies due to firing variables. However the factory checks and grades each peice for precision painting of the designs themselves and only the neatest ones by factory grading (top grade) are imported by this company. The factory does NOT grade based on how crimson/red the actual flowers are. The other colors -blue & greens- on my mug are as pictured and it is painted very neatly overall. Just know you may get reddish flowers or you may get salmon-ish paler flowers. I still like it, but the pictured bright red makes a difference in the design, so I would note this back to the pottery factory; ALL their crimson bells items on the factory website show bright deep red flowers. I wish my flowers were bright deep crimson like in the picture. The mug size is bistro so it's like a good double-cup size for coffee. Also, PPG did a very careful pack job, and mug arrived in perfect shape in a box with plenty of tightly packed paper cushioning - Thanks for that, very important for ordering online. Plus, they were responsive, wrote back promptly and talked to me on the phone, which is appreciated. I would order this brand of polish handpainted pottery from them again. Think I will email to the factory about the red not being red, though.

Colors...not very vibrant..the reds..pics look better

Crazy expensive, but it was my Christmas money treat to myself. I purchased 3, one for each of my teatime friends to use. My friends enjoyed being able to wrap their hands around the mug, especially liked the curved lip and the large handle. Plus they enjoyed the beautiful patterns. Overall I am pleased with the mugs.

I just adore my beautiful polish pottery. Thank you for the extra wrapping and the cartons around each and every one that you have sent me. They are so beautiful. the painting is exquisite, not a flower dropped, no missed spaces. Just perfect. I always look for the signature on the botto to make sure they are authentic. and they allways are!! Thank you very much for adding to my collection!

I decided not to fill the dishwashers with one big cup after another. This cup could go in the dishwasher but I hand wash and use for multiple big cups of coffee and tea during the day. It is the right size for me and it feels good in the hand. Did I mention it is very attractive??

Not only is this mug beautiful, it feels good in my hands. This will not be my last purchase of Polish pottery!
