WWII: The Essential Collection (The World at War / Victory at Sea / The Century of Warfare)

Hell of a documentary collection. Well worth the cost.

Great series. A constant history class which helps to relate what the would is today based on the two world wars.

Ok, I am a WWII history buff but am always looking to expand my knowledge. I came upon this by accident since I was looking for the classic World at War series, which sells for 39.99 on DVD. Well this set is 29.99 had includes the ENTIRE World at War Set, the entire Victory at Sea set, and a newer series called "A Century of Warfare" which is also very well done. While some may not like these full screen versions, keep in mind that all the original footage was shot in this format and it would require cutting massive parts of the screen to get this in widescreen. This would be a steal at 3 times the price. Get this now while supplies last!!!

Love this collection. When I was very young we always watched Victory At Sea on Sunday. The World At War was a particular favorite of mine as well. As a history buff I do find The Century of Warfare to be a bit less than those two, but still well worth having. My only quibble with this great collection is that there are no subtitles. As I get older I do find those very helpful. I guess we can't have absolutely everything we want.

This is nothing like a movie of World War II. You will see the real battles and you will see it all. This is a wonderful look at the greatest war of all times. It is a great collection of the facts and stories of that war. It is by far the best collection I have found. If you are a World War II buff like me you will truly enjoy this collection.

Just received two one Korea 5 hours, second ww2 60 hours. Should receive another ww2 and Victory at Sea 32 hours. Received them in Four days. Your tracking info is easy. Neat to see where item is on specific day and time. Have no doubt will be satisfied like the other 14 3D DVDs I purchased from you. Served in Korea, like to further understand why we give our lives. I have already seen the series The World at War, but I wanted to have the series in my possession, so I ordered it. Everything else is a bonus for me. Some of the video is not the best quality, so I couldn't give it five stars. It is well worth the investment.

I really enjoy this set. It is fairly complete but lacking in many areas. It is a nice addition to my WW2 collection. Anyone that is interested in WW2 would find this a great start to a full collection. It pretty well covers from start to finish as well as the aftermath. The perspective is solely from the allied standpoint, still very informative.
