KLUTZ My Simple Sewing Jr. Craft Kit

This is a wonderful simple sewing kit for little ones just learning the basics of simple sewing. Included in the kit are some cardboard practice pieces to learn sewing with. Then there are 3 super cute felt projects to make. The felt is pre-cut and nice quality. Also included is plastic sewing needle, felt stickers and yarn to sew with.

My daughter is 4 1/2 years old and interested in sewing. I am an accomplished seamstress, and I was looking for a kit that would be approachable for her and inspire her to want to actually practice stitching--that's all that matters to me, because that's how she'll gain the skills to move on to more advanced projects. This fit the bill. The projects are simple, with enough sewing to be valuable practice; they were fun for her (she wanted to do them all on day 1) and quick to complete. She did all of the stitching herself, and threaded the needle herself. The felt stickers that finish the projects are lots of fun and she is happy with the results. If there's no adult present who has at least elementary sewing skills to guide the child, then 4 is probably too young for this, but with really minimal guidance, it was perfect.

Love how everything is so kid thought out! Between the threads being pre cut, the paper versions to start learning with, thread stoppers. Absolutely love it!!! Definitely getting more of these.

This is a great simple kit that anyone 4-7 will get a kick out of. The kit starts out very simple, with sewing stitches on a paper donut and making a sandwich out of peanut butter and jelly bread halves. The paper is printed only on one side, which is kind of strange, espeically since the instructions seem to indicate that you should match the printed sides together when you stitch. Eventually, you move on, creating small stuffed ice cream creatures, and with accessories in the bag, that really helps make this last a while. The plastic needle is effective enough since the holes are substantial.Parental supervision necessary for my 5-year-old was minimal - I read the instructions once and she made the creature entirely on her own. It will last a few hours, and requires a good amount of dexterity. A great learning toy.

Grandsons saw me mending and wanted to know about sewing. This kit comes with all you need and is bright and colorful. Twins read the directions with me, laid out the materials they needed, sewed with just a little supervision, then gathered the stick ons they wanted to use, planned their placement and attached. Good craft for simple sewing and learning to follow directions for a successful product!

My son is 5 and has been watching me sew for a while, so asked for his own sewing project. I found this and thought it looked perfect for him. It was just as fun as it looks, and exactly right for his age - kind of a shame there weren't more than three items to make in the set! It was good for his attention span though (we actually skipped one of the "practice projects" as he figured it out after the first one), and the items that he created are super cute!

My niece loved it and was able to make quite a few crafts with this set. I was impressed with the overall quality of the items and very glad this is what I chose as her birthday present. It was worth it

This was too hard for my 7 yo to do on her own.
