Amazon Basics Quick-Dry Hand Towels - 100% Cotton, 8-Pack, Linen

Quick-Dry must mean that the towels themselves dry quickly- of course they would, since they feel like velveteen and absorb almost no water from skin. I bought these because my family diskiles plush towels- we live in the Caribbean and like thin rough-ish cotton towels that dry the body. If you like to pull clothes on over wet skin, these are the towels for you. After several rewashes, they're still plasticky. I don't know what towels the other reviewers received since I ordered four sets which were sent from different fulfillment centers and each set is as useless as the other.Maybe Amazon should check the quality of these to make certain the manufacturer hasn't changed the content.

Bought the Platinum color towel set on May 3, 2019 and they arrived the next day, packed nicely. I love the color and the towels, I thought, were a perfect weight and were soft, too. The nightmare began with their first washing (see photos). Not the way I wanted to celebrate moving into a new home... :(I washed them in cold water, normal cycle. There were about 4 or 5 other pieces of clothing already in the washer, so I just put the towels in with them. I always hang the clothes up to dry, instead of using a dryer. I didn't even get that far though. Went to empty the washer and hang the clothes, that's when I discovered the mess the towels made of my washer and it's contents, ugh. Will try and rewash them at the laundromat and use their dryer afterwards and keep my fingers crossed that most of the lint and stuff comes off. Going through all the comments, seems this is an ongoing problem and really needs to be addressed.

Really disappointed with these towels. I've had them awhile and have run them through the washer several times (as directed) and they shed lint like you wouldn't believe... not just in the washer, but during use too. I have to sweep the bathroom every morning because of these towels. It's absolutely unbelievable. I guess this is what you get with cheap towels? Lesson learned!

If I had written this review weeks ago I'd be giving 2 stars.So I received these towels in the mail and I put them in the wash before using. Unfortunately, I washed these in my portable washing machine & hung them on a rack to dry and when it came time to use the towels, the lint that came off of them was absolutely insane!! There was such a crazy lint mess in my bathroom and the towels seemed to shed so much during those first few uses.BUT after that first week or so they stopped shedding and have just been so fluffy, soft, and quick drying. My husband's towel, which always generally smells musty from never fully drying, smells freshly washed after weeks of him using these towels. He even asked me today if I had washed his towel cause it smelled like fabric softener (I had not).So my advice is, when these arrive at your house, wash them thoroughly (maybe twice) in a regular washing machine and tumble dry them (I hung these up to dry the first time...not the best idea). This will ensure that you get all that lint out first and you'll be left with a set of soft fluffy towels.

purchased for guest bathroom. Perfect set, perfect price. Locally a simple 3pc set in a reasonable colour was a royal pain in the butt. I like my amazon basics bedding, so decided to get the towels and bathmat. I'll get more amazon basics as needed, pretty happy with the quality and durability of that line so far.

I generally trust Amazon Basics and they haven't disappointed me so far. Cute color, towels exactly as described on the page. They're not thin and not too thick. I haven't washed these yet, but they don't seem linty so far. Will update the review with photos before and after wash-and-dry cycle :) (super cute edge detailing, too!)

These towels mark the end of a LONG search for towels that are quick drying and high quality. They don’t get the mildew smell that our other, heavier towels got and are extremely lightweight. However, they are the most absorbent towels that we have tried. My wife has very thick hair and she says that these towels have drastically cut down the amount of time she has to blow dry her hair each morning. They have gone through a few washes and the color has held up. They are light colored anyhow (we got platinum, white and sea foam), and are beautiful. No pilling or fraying after a couple months of regular use and washing. We have tried at least three rounds of “the best quick drying towels” and these were amazing. Highly recommend!

These towels are good quality; they are not 'luxury'/high quality, but definitely better than low quality/economy towels. They were packaged well, in a plastic bag inside a corrugated box. There was a new material type smell to the towels, but after the first wash before use (which the instructions say to do), that smell was 100% gone, leaving them perfect. They are well made, the hemming on the ends and sides is solid, and no threads/hemming has come undone in the time I've had them and it doesn't look like that will be an issue at all. These are made in India. I can't say why they chose the name 'Quick-Dry', as that usually indicates something that, when hanging in air, dries itself more quickly than normal; that is not the case at all with these towels, but the do work better when used to dry something.Comparing the Quick-Dry vs the Regular version (both AmazonBasics, both same size hand towels):Quick Dry: - Extremely soft, more than typical, very nice feel to them - Dries hands more quickly/easily, soaks up any water it touches instantly, makes better contact with skin - Wet towel does not dry any quicker than a regular towel, it dries about the same - Has a texture with a look and feel more like very short fur - Ideal (and preferred by me) for drying anything that is wet (from hands, to a wet counter) - Not the best for using as a washcloth (like if you want a big soaked cloth to use to wash your counter/floor) - Made in IndiaRegular: - Typical soft cotton towel feel - Dries hands like typical towels, not quite as quick to absorb as the quick-dry - Wet towel dries normally - Has the typical cotton towel loop texture, course but not rough at all - Great for drying anything that is wet (from hands, to a wet counter), but the quick-dry works even better - Ideal for using as a large washcloth (like if you want a big soaked cloth to use to wash a counter/floor - Made in IndiaIn comparing the two types, it looks like they are both made exactly the same way, perhaps by the same company/factory, using different material, so the only difference is just that, the material.Recommendation:Both are nice towels, but when used to dry something wet (hands, body, counters), the Quick-Dry is definitely better, and by far the better choice for many reasons. I definitely recommend them.Interestingly, it is quite the opposite if they are used as washcloths, when both are soaking wet and used to wash/scrub something, the Regular is definitely better for that alternate use.

I bought these towels because we were having guests who were staying with us for a few days. I washed them immediately and they came out fluffy and soft. They are thick, which makes them seem more luxurious. A great buy!

It's a very bad product, threads came out after 1st wash, I didn't even used it but just washed it before using it and that happens.I gave it to my 🐕, he also refused to take it.I wasted my money, please you people don't waste your money, all the good reviews are given only just because of its first look and without using it, that was awesome but after using it you will definitely gonna regret for purchasing it.

I decided it was time to replace a few things in my apartment and one of the first things I wanted to replace was my old towels. They looked lifeless and I did not like the look of them either. I bought two towels from costco and was content with that. I started looking around here for another towel. I came across this and thought this looked like a good towel to purchase as it is big and there are 3 towels in total.They arrived quickly and came wrapped in plastic. I opened up the package and there were the three towels. One big towel, one hand towel and one medium towel. I noticed all the towels were quite soft which is nice. I have used them a few times and am happy with them. The one thing I think the towels lack is thickness. The large towel itself feels a bit thin but it may just be me.Overall, I am pretty happy with this purchase and for the price it is nice that I got a full towel set.

Too soft for great scrubbing affect on the body such as in the shower, however, I bought these specifically for my face and so I am very happy. They are very soft, exactly as described. I have washed them a few times and found no loose threads. My roommate did use a peroxide face cream on one and it did get bleach stains so just a reminder these are not face bleachy cream resistant (proactive or clean and clear).
