Wonderful gift for in laws!
We bought my in laws this as a gift for Christmas and it lasted 2 years without breaking! When it eventually broke they said they could not drink their wine anymore without it. It helped the flavor so much. So.....we bought them another one. Worth it!

This does a great job and is attractive.
We have owned this decanter for over 6 years works great. I don't understand why some reviews say it breaks easily. I think they're just not being careful.

Should Have Been Dripless
Full disclosure, I got this yesterday and have decanted all of one bottle of wine. That said, here are my initial impressions. My biggest disappointment was that the decanter is not dripless. When you pour wine from the decanter into a glass, a drop of wine runs down the outside. Much the same as what happens with many wine bottles. This is not a deal breaker for me, but for $50+ I would have expected better.Secondly, I'm not sure how much the aerator really does. It's sort of like a sealed funnel, but with about 5 holes drilled into it. It does force the wine into 5 separate streams, but I was expecting a finer mist than this delivers. That said, I opened a bottle of wine and poured it into the decanter about 2 hours before drinking. The wine seemed to me to be notably softer. I tend to drink relatively cheap ($10 - $12) heavy red wines (Cabs, Chiantis, Bourdeaxs, etc.) and this does seem to open them up and make them more drinkable. The only question in my mind is would they have opened up about the same by simply pouring the wine directly into the decanter... or does the aerator speed the process? On the positive side, the filter is a good addition. There was no residue in the bottle I drank yesterday, but I have gotten this in other bottles and the screen filter would appear to help on this count. Not sure I would have bought this if it didn't come with a filter.Bottom line, I still gave this four stars primarily because I liked what it did to the wine. Other positives are the screen filter, and the packaging is attractive. The negatives are the non-dripless construction of the decanter, and the price. I could easily see this being sold for $30 or $35.I'm neutral on the aerator as I am not sure if it actually helps or not. I might try drinking the next bottle sooner after opening, which would allow me to judge better.

Great gift, well worth the money!
This was a gift to my husband who only drinks red wine. He LOVES it, and so do I. It has honestly made red wine tolerable for me LOL. It is extremely well made, easy to use, and there is a noticable difference in the taste of your wine. It also looks cool, so that's a plus. so far no cracks or issues with cleaning.

Effective Decanter and Filter, Aeration Not so Much
This decanter looks nice and the filter is great for wines that have bottle aged for a while and developed some sediment. It also takes out those little pieces of cork when you accidentally destroy it when opening the bottle. The aeration function works ok but you still need to let the wine breathe for a bit after decanting.

Makes Cheap or Expensive Red Wine Better!
If you know nothing about wine, then trust me, this will help your wine taste smoother instead of stinging in the back of your throat. It removes the bite from red wine. I can't believe we never knew about this until now. We're just learning about wine and are so pleased how fast this works. Some less expensive wines may need additional breathing, but even then, it's amazing the difference it makes. Just amazing! You don't have to let it breath at all or not as long.Because it is hand blown glass, you may see imperfections in the glass. Don't worry about it. That's natural, as someone pointed out to me.The glass is very thin and fragile, just like fine crystal. If you're accident prone, this item is not for you. Otherwise, just be sure to wash it in the sink without anything else in there. It is also helpful to place a towel on the bottom if you think you may hit it and break it. The towel acts like a cushion. I haven't used that for anything in decades, but I thought I'd share it.

More than pleased
Typically the word Super appears tacky to me when used in a product's title. In this case, I find it most appropriate. I bought this decanter for use with the Pinot Noirs, Syrahs, and young cabs in my collection. It opens up wine as fast as I was hoping and has become indispensable for the aforementioned wines. Additionally I use the filter for my older wines (I take out the aerator for those, don't want to oxidize it too much). Finally, the presentation is also excellent. I've taken it to restaurants and it has always impressed (it has even scored me a few bottles of wine).

Game changer
After years of pouring from the bottle this revolutionises red wine. Used to think as a gimmick. I was wrong this enhances your favourite red to another level.

False advertising
The filter/funnel does nothing like the photos - wine just flows straight through it. Returning.

Fabulous decanter
I bought this decanter a couple of years ago and it takes decanting to the next level. Love it so much that I bought this one for my son for his birthday. He loves it too ... now my brother wants one 😊
