Why is this Poppy Seed so very expensive.. I purchased some last year and only paid $2.00 a can?

The harder it gets to find, the more the prices go up. I used to be able to get it at Safeway or Lucky, but they no longer carry it.

Are the seeds already grinded?

The seeds are tiny and made into a sweet paste. We use it straight from the can as the filling for makowiec, poppy seed rolls for Christmas and Easter.

What type package does it ship in?

I had ordered several cans. Each can was wrapped in bubble wrap and then put into a shipping box.
