Ziploc Big Bags, XL, 10 gallon, 24x20 in., 32 ct (8/4s)

These bags are great for so many items! I use them for storing guest pillows and blankets, packing clothes for traveling and storing other large items (even my large punch bowl)!

These were just what we needed to freeze some large items and seal them in airtight conditions.

We occasionally need a larger bag for awkward sized items. This bag worked well and have been reordered to keep a supply of them

After reading a number of reviews that recommended these bags instead of the storage bags which can be vacuum sealed, we bought a large quantity. They're a good size and have a double ziplock seal but they also allow air to flow back into them. Based on the reviews, we'd hoped to use them for the "compressed" storage of clothing. It doesn't look like that will be the case, but we are pleased with how much they hold. A note of caution, tho, don't overfill them or when you try to lift them by the handle, the locks will unzip at that location.

What can I say? They are giant ziploc bags. The zip closure works well once it's sealed properly, but it's a little hard to make sure you've sealed a ziploc that big--you have to go over it a couple of times and be careful carrying by the handle if the seal integrity is important to you. A good size for a couple of pairs of shoes or boots, a set of bed linens (unfolded), random odds and ends of food, etc. The picture makes this size look bigger than it is; if you really want to store a lot of sporting equipment, a comforter, a full load of laundry, or anything of that size, go for XXL.

With Ziploc's usual good standards I'm surprised they're selling such a faulty product. Both my husband and I have enjoyed using another big bag made similarly. It was large, simple to use with a real zipper closure, and durable enough to fill up and reuse several times over. So I purchased these XL Big Bags since I can no longer find the others. Here is why I promptly returned them: 1. The "double zipper" closure isn't a zipper at all. It's the type of closure you press, and it took me several frustrating minutes to close it with the bag half full. It's just really hard to use. 2. I tried filling with balls (like the woman on the front of the package) and also used them to fill with baby clothing, both bags 3/4 full and the closure reopened every time I picked up the bag. 3. Unless you fill the bags with items with the weight of feathers, using the handle on the bag will only reopen the closure again. Ziploc needs to test these bags before selling any more of them.

We purchased these to store extra animal skins (for an Animaland machine) in our business. Since we wanted to kep them safe in a rather dusty storage area, I had hoped they would keep these safe. Sadly, they were difficult to close, some of them tore open, and whenever I picked them up by the handle, they opened. We used them, but only as open holding bags. They are a good idea, but are more impressive in concept than in reality.

I put my jacket and my bag in here when I go to work so I keep my stuff safe from bed bugs cockaroachs and germs. So far so good. And I keep one of the bags outside on my terrace so when I do get home from a day being out in public with everyone coughing and sneezing and just not being conscientious I put my jacket my hat my scarf in this bag and I hang it outside for a couple hours so the cold air kind of gets through everything
