A great spiritual primer on fear and faith
Gary Zimak is a friendly, approachable, and relevant voice for modern Catholics. Both on the radio and in his writing, Gary expresses with honesty and sincerity his own struggles with anxiety and learning to suffer without fear.As one who has a background in psychology, I felt Gary did very well in taking a difficult psychological concept and helping readers understand the spirituality behind their fear and worry. This is not an easy task, because modern psychology often omits this very important aspect of our lives - the soul and its faculties.Probably my two favorite parts of "From Fear to Faith" were the 5 P's of Peace - especially the chapter on Prayer - and also the chapter, "There is a Reason."Here's a gem from the chapter on prayer: "When we pray, the Lord will respond with what we need. Even if we're unaware of our 'real' needs, God knows what they are and will respond appropriately." I felt that what he was illustrating from Scripture in this chapter was indicative of expectant, or confident, faith. It really gave me fresh perspective on how I pray and for what.I highly recommend this book for individual or group study for both men and women. A perfect gift for the young and the old, "From Fear to Faith" is a great primer on how to understand fear and faith from a spiritual perspective.

Wonderful manual for Everyday Life
Wonderful little guide to help you when you have fears, anxieties and worries. I have sent my daughter to psychologists and one psychiatrist and find that when therapy does not meet the needs of their patients the first course of treatment is to double up on meds!! Yes this MAY be helpful in some certain circumstances but oftentimes the individual suffers from a spiritual illness. I myself can attest to the power of God in healing many of these illnesses and Gary Zimaks book is a wonderful tool to help you overcome the big and little stresses of everyday life.

Okay
This book was a disappointment to me. I found it just didn't go as deep as I wanted it to. I appreciated the step-by-step checklists, but at the same time, some of it came across as simple, trite sayings, rather than deeply healing. I didn't find the practical advice all that unusual or novel. Unfortunately, it was comprised of things I've heard before, and I was hoping to go a lot deeper into healing from fear, worry, anxiety, etc. I'd give 2.5 stars if I could.

This book helped me feel more at peace.
The book is easily understood and was a pleasure to read. I got a lot out of it and I am actually thinking more about heaven than present situations. Thank you Sir for helping me.
