Works great and is accurate! Solid construction and good design concept well realized.
I noticed upon receipt that the meter wasn't zeroed, so using the present offset I went around and tested my potted plants and compared the results against good old fashioned universal pH paper - it was accurate, just offset! So I opened it up carefully and disassembled the unit entirely without severing any connections (good clean solder joints and logical point to point wiring inside, good on you manufacturer!) and re-zeroed the meter carefully. Closed it up and retested it; perfect match in results to difficult to use pH paper. pH readings seem to stabilize over about 5min, faster than the book's instructed 10.The Moisture function reads a little high IMO, but most of these types of soil conductivity meters will do that just because of tight electrode spacing, which is necessary for pH readings. But the moisture function works quite well for broad-strokes readings. I look at it as a bonus function; a bit extra data over what a finger tip gives. The light function is heavily weighted to warm light intensities; the red plastic window blocks UV and blue light - which does contribute to photosynthesis, but those same wavelengths also give inaccurate readings for this type of sensor (photodiode), so again this speaks to the unit's accuracy. So the unit might read very low on light function depending on your light source. My low power white light led plant lights read very low (since they are heavy in blue and green light), while my high power blue+red / "blurple" / magenta LED grow lights read much more strongly, as expected. Good for a relative light intensity reading for sure. Will be interesting to try it using natural light sources in the future. The aluminium electrode was a bit oxidized/tarnished upon receipt but a light sanding with 220grit paper brightened it up and made it work as intended.

Light and wetness works
I have only used the light meter and water meter so far and that’s all I wanted it for. I’m not sure how accurate the light meter works because it says all lights are high on scale even my home lamps. The water meter seems to work exactly like it’s supposed to though and it says when the plant is dry. It’s a little hard to sink into dry soil and pulls the soil up whenever I finally get it down deep enough so that kinda stinks but it works properly.

Made my life easier and cleaner.
I have lots of plants and stick my fingers down in the dirt to check if they need watering. Sometimes, I’m not sure and go ahead and water “just in case”. This little darling glides in easily without my having to go dig the dirt out from under my fingernail and saves my polished nails from the wear and tear of dirt and grime. I have old eyes and the dark background with white meter is easy to read. I am just thrilled that it works so well and I can easily see it!As for pH, it matched what I was told my soil was. It also matched what my high dollar pH meter I’ve used for years said that has to be plugged into an electrical socket and have the expensive... can’t remember what they’re called.... but the tips that have to be replaced periodically. As for the light, I may be blind, but I can tell if there’s enough light without needing a meter. Maybe necessary for something more technical than I do. The water checker that saves my nails is the important aspect of the tool for me. Just love it and very glad I purchased.I am simply thrilled with this easy-to-use tool. If it Konks out eventually, it’s cheap enough to replace. I won’t live without this little darlin’ in the future.

Don’t buy this product
This product is awful plain and simple. First one I received didn’t work at all. The replacement worked on day one for the PH and read about 8.0+ every time thereafter. No it’s not ME. I’m sticking the probe into a soil with roughly 25-35% peat moss. That should be well below 5-6. My digital meter reads 5. The moisture meter seems to work. Light meter seems to work. I was so pissed I threw them both away instead of being offered another replacement.

To work all right I’m not sure how accurate but for the price pretty much tells you what you need to know

PH reading defective on mine
This device is supposed to provide a couple of pieces of information, but the PH function did not work on mine. Disappointing since that was the only reason I ordered it. I also found the meter reading difficult to see for the other function, but that reading worked.

Learn how to use it first!
This is a well made meter and fairly accurate at this price point. Didn't like the negative reviews, especially on breaking the probes. Don't just jam it in the earth and wonder why it broke. Take a few minutes, go to YouTube and look at "How to properly use ph meters in the garden".It's the correct way and the safe way to use the meter. It's a tool which should serve you well. You just have to learn how to use it right. Get sample from 2" - 3" down, mix with distilled water. (Tap water will throw reading off). Stir and let sit about 5 min. Gently put the probe in the moist soil and take the reading after it sits for about a minute.
