These books are a cry of relief from the five minute books we usually read with our son and they have already taught him so much about science, nature, and particularly history. Jack and Annie, the lead characters in the series, travel through time and meet with prominent historical figures such as Equipment Queens, take a trip to the moon, spend a day with Abraham Lincoln, land in camp with General George Washington as he is ready to cross the Delaware, and even convince a young Mozart to continue his pursuit in music. They are well written books that peak interest in subjects young kids may not yet have access to and have accompanying research guides that give detailed back stories and historical guides to the subjects covered in the novels. Although the intended audience of the series seem to be for children around 8 - 10, our five year old becomes engulfed in the stories every single evening, always looking forward to what adventure Jack and Annie are heading for next.Amazon also tend to have a wider availability of the series than book stores like Barnes and Nobel at prices up to half the cost of the same.

so fun and sweet
This story is so fun and sweet. I’ve never read any of these books before and see why they are so popular. The characters are cute, the plot is simple, and the topic is universal. Glad I started with pirates!

Great Series for Double Dipping - You Read When Little, They Read Later When Older
This is an engrossing series every kid will love. My Kindergartener loves it. We read these like candy, eating through them in 3 days and moving onto another. It's like we gorge on each book. Am hoping once she reads that she'll go back and read them for herself. She loves the stories. They are just long enough to be engrossing and short enough for her to feel satisfied like she's finished something good.

My kids LOVE these books! We are now reading book #7
My kids love these books! We have been reading them in sequence and no we are in book #7 I believe. Just enough excitement and suspense for little minds! The chapters are short, so I typically read 1-3 chapters per night. There are 10 chapters in every book we have read so far. Fun story line!

Great series for young readers
My daughter is in Kindergarten and loves these books! She will not let me read them out of order though. It is a great series with a new adventure in each book. The characters are easy to relate to for children and I love the history/science/geography lesson that comes along with each one. Highly recommended for young "readers" as the chapters are short but the content is exciting.

Bedtime Reading for 5 and 3 year olds
We started at 1 and are marching through all of the Magic Tree House series. My kids looooooove it!! We have a special place in our hearts for pirates so this one in the series was extra fun. I got to use 3 different pirate character voices and the kids got to try and help the main characters figure out where the buried treasure was. This whole series is a pure delight!!!

Reading these books to my 5 year old
Pirates Past Noon was excellent and fast paced. Better than the Knights book, in my opinion. The kids have much more agency in the final resolution.

The Magic Treehouse is a hit in our house, and this story is no exception. I read it to my son (7) and daughter (5) a few chapters at a time each evening. My son BEGGED me for 'just another chapter' each night.
