My "active" daughter's favorite book
Like many babies, I have a very active 9-month-old who cannot stay engaged with an activity for more than a few minutes. Baby Einstein has been a lifesaver for me. This huge touch and feel book keeps her in my lap for two whole readings! Each page has something for her to touch and stay engaged with. The pages are different rooms of a house, so eventually she will be able to relate to it even more. It is by far her favorite book and the one I attribute to for her now staying still for a couple of other books too. We have Dr. Suess and Baby Einstein board books, and while I know she'll grow into the Dr. Suess books, the Baby Einstein books work like a charm each time. It is important to have this time with her and for her to become interested in books (or at least familiar with them).I also highly recommend the small Baby Einstein board books: "Cats," "Dogs," and "Babies." And unfortunately, the other Baby Einstien giant touch and feel book, "Old MacDonald" is not half as good.

Great even for infants
I got this book for my 2 month old son. That's right, 2 months old. Out of all the books we got, he liked this one the best. He still hasn't learned that he can touch the various textures, but he has always loved looking at this book. Even though the pages are busy, the pictures are big, colorful, and interesting. The large size of the book made it easier for him to see everything. I think looking at this book and similar books has really helped him focus on objects. This is our favorite bedtime story at the moment.Update: my son is now 16 months old and loves touching all the different textures. It's true, as another parent commented here, that most other touch and feel books have very similar textures while this one provides a wide variety of textures.

Its ok
Its a cute book, but way over priced for what you get. I guess its because it's baby einstein, your paying for the brand more than the book.

My Nephew LOVES this Book!!
I bought this book for my nephew a month before his 1st birthday when his family moved into their first house. He LOVES this book. My sister says he's always pulling this book out of his pile of books & loves looking at it. His favorite touch & feel part is the sticky fingerpaint. I noticed in another review that they said the toothpaste didn't smell. I found it to be kind of like a scratch & sniff sticker; it didn't smell until I scratched it lightly with my fingernail & then I could smell the minty scent. I would recommend buying this book and plan to buy a couple more for other friends that have babies or small children at home.

Fun, colorful and easy to read
This book is a favorite with my young children. The text flows nicely allowing even very young children to learn it and say it along with you. It has varying colors and textures throughout the book. The book goes through various rooms of a house and utilizes textures you would find in each. For example, the bathroom has a rubber ducky in the bathtub, a towel hanging on a rack and toothpaste to smell (This is the only page with a scent). I wish they had more of these books but this is the only one I have found. This is by far the best "touch and feel" book I have ever come across!

Great book
This is one of the best touch-and-feel books I've come across for my kids. It's a giant book, great for reading with more than one kid and the textures are unique (not everything is that fuzzy, fake-fur stuff). The toothpaste is a scratch-and-sniff and they use a real sponge on the kithen page! Great, simple illustrations and a great rhyming story. You'll not be disappointed with this book! Though, I would say don't give it to a very small child who is more apt to chew the pages rather than look at it.
