A little dated, but a great book nonetheless.
I've been using this book as a reference for solving systems biology problems. I have a pretty basic math background with one introductory linear algebra course several years ago. I've found this book to be very accessible for a non-mathematician, but still rigorous enough that I can verify the proofs for the important theorems. It has a nice complete set of types of problems that can be solved with LP including reduced cost calculations, parametric objective fns, multiobjective problems, and sensitivity analysis. Saul reuses a simple two dimensional problem for graphical explanations of the concepts, which makes connecting the ideas much easier. Overall, very nice book. I highly recommend it.

Linear Programming: Methods and Applications: Fifth Edition
This book is excellent for everyone who is studying Linear Programming. What is especially useful is the large number of references that are included at the end of each chapter. The second thing is the inclusion of introductory material in chapters 1 to 4 for the first time student. The third thing that is good is the inclusion of many applications, making the book very useful for the experienced student of Operations Reserch. The fourth is the abundance of exercises at the end of each chapter. I strongly recommend this book for students, especially those who are from disciplines outside Mathematics, who will use computational techniques of Linear Programming.

If you are mathematically inclined, then this might be the book for you. But if you come from commerce side of the world, there are other alternatives.

A good book for beginner
A good book for beginner, especially for those not familiar with linear algebra. It does not contain deeper knowledge such as interior point method.
