Combatting the Neighbors Dogs
It has been working wonders on "training" our neighbors dogs to stop yapping all the time. Any time we are outside and hear them start up, we grab the whistle and give a short blast. If needed, we will repeat this each time they bark while we are out there. Usually, it only takes once or twice before they stop barking altogether. They definitely are not barking as much as they used to, so that is a blessing. Nothing more obnoxious than a barking, yapping dog! One thing to note though: this whistle is *incredibly* loud - very high pitched - and it even hurts my ears at times.

Just the thing for dog field work
I had a dog trainer come up to me and ask, What kind of whistle is that? It's a field-training whistle. For gun dogs, herding dogs—any dog that you may need to recall from up to several hundred yards away. A pro trainer showed it to me and I like them. With this, I can have my dog galloping toward me from 1/4 mi. or more distant. The bell protects your ears and makes the sound louder and more directional. They're inexpensive, which is good, because I inevitably lose them. If you're recalling little Luna from 20' away, this is overkill. But if your dog bolts after deer, for example, it's perfect. I do wish it came with a lanyard, but it's easy enough to buy 50' of nylon cord and make your own. Mine are bright orange so I can find them in the wet grass on a gloomy day. Mind you, it's not the whistle but your training that makes the dog return!

Loud and clear
Loud and clear! My dog responds immediately when I use it during training sessions. The grip is comfortable, and it doesn’t hurt the ears even when you blow hard. Works exactly as I hoped!

Bigger than I would have expected.

Great dog training whistle
Good whistle for the price. Loud and has no pea for cold weather.

Does not sound right
So I got this, and it sounds off like the vibrator ball in the whistle is stuck. I exchanged it for another one, and it does the same thing. Because the ball is either too big or stuck, the sound never fully develops and it sounds hoarse. Get another one instead.

Loud
This whistle definitely gets a dog’s attention. It is very loud! I expected a more silent training whistle. This is not that.

This absolutely shuts up my neighbor's idiot dog
I had tried all kinds of things to get the dog to stop having an all night barking contest with the equally stupid dog down the street. Nothing worked. So I tried this. I just blew it as loud as I could from inside my own house and could immediately tell the dog didn't like it one bit. At first, he'd bark more to complain about the whistle but I'd just keep blowing it repeatedly until he stopped. In less than a week, he got the message. He can bark all day long but once it gets dark, he knows to stay quiet. I give him a reminder if he forgets and go to the kitchen and bang pots and pans together if he argues about it. He hates that even more.

This only worked for about a month. Maybe tried it 15 times. And not used outdoor either!
