The only gel we use
My wife and I both love these. Strawberry and Pineapple are our favorite flavors. You feel good and do good but then you take one of these and you feel and do better. Faster, farther with more power! And they’re bigger but then you don’t need to follow it up instantly with a giant squirt of water. They’re isotonic and quite liquid-y so all you need is these for fueling and your bottle for hydrating.

This is the gel to use!
SIS has the best gels in the market in my opinion. Especially if you tend to do longer workouts that require you to consume several gels. Here's why: SIS gels don't need to be consumed with water!! They have a mild taste, don't feel too sweet and are fairly priced. The caffeinated version (75mg) is just what I need to get a second life during long runs or rides. I like the orange or lime flavors which are even more mild. Does it taste fantastic? No! But that's not what gels are for. When you are doing endurance triathlons or century bike rides, SIS is the only way to go, when you have to consume a gel every 30 min. The logistics of having to carry enough water to be able to consume the other brands of gels is not a good strategy.I have basically used many of the other popular brands: GU, Clif, Stinger, and even premium ones Springer, Huma. They are not bad, and they are good options if you just need an occasional gel during shorter workout sessions (1 to 2 hr). Once you start using them more often, you get nauseated with the fact they are too sweet or go broke because they are too expensive.

Great product - opened package
I love this product and use it religiously for cycling. The lemon/lime flavor is pretty decent and it's easy to swallow during my rides. My only complaint this order was the case was completely opened as a botched "reseal" attempt didn't workout. However, I did not issue a return/replace since none of the individual packets were opened...still annoying though. Regardless, I highly recommend this product and the opened case has nothing to do with the actual quality. I feel this product is much more affordable while being better quality than many of its competitors.

Strange at first....but really, a great product!
The first time I took the gel, the thin consistency was very odd and my brain definitely questioned swallowing it. However, I quickly acclimated, and now I can see the amazing advantages. While doing a group ride, even if the group is hammering pretty hard, you can still easily shoot the gel down your throat in 1 or 2 gulps, and thats it... 22g of carbs down in less than 5 seconds, no water required. To me this is important, because I have bonked plenty of times due to delayed eating habits when the group is hammering hard. Also, I had 0 GI discomfort or strange stomach feelings whatsoever. The energy supplied did not "hit" me either, just kept my energy level feeling normal for my 80 mile ride last weekend. I went with the orange flavor, which was pretty good. They are not saturated with flavor either, which I also thought was nice.

Recommended by a fellow cyclist
I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm slowing down. I turn 63 in a couple weeks, and keeping up with my younger fellow riders often proves difficult on the tail end of the rides. Granted, I'm not the fastest. But these energy gels really hit the spot and keep the legs moving. I have been consuming one on the latter half of my rides for about a year and have no regrets. I can keep going even when I pass the 50-mile mark and maintain pace. Amazing stuff.

Best Gels on Market!
A lot of the negative comments about this product have centered upon the taste and consistency of these gels. My questions are... What gels have a phenomenal (not over sugary) taste? Which don't have an awful consistency, (like thick sludge) requiring water to avoid gagging? The answer, pretty much none. SIS gels lack flavor, I'm good with that. I need my gels to be more effective than 'great' tasting, which SIS has 'just enough' taste (orange best so far). And for consistency, they can't be beat. They go down like water. The only down side may be their size/weight because of the isotonic (water) factor. But if your not an elite participant who gets to lay stuff out on tables/stations in advance, you can handle carrying a few extra ounces around. And if you do ultras, triathlon or trail type events carrying these will be a cinch in your hydration packs, vests or cycling shirt pockets. Hands down best product by far for energy and electrolyte maintenance during endurance events.

Not the most flavorful, but go down quick and easy.
Easy gel to digest. Not overly sweet. You don't have to chase with water. I recommend putting the product in a flask and it's not easy to open the packaging while cycling.

Great Product
Have had no issues with these. They can run expensive at times, but just look out for deals. No upset stomach, not thick, and good flavor. I can't have caffeine and these still give me the boost of "energy" I need. I've tried other brands as well as ones with no maltodextrin, or only natural ingredients and they just don't do it for me. Will reccommend this brand to anyone. Better than Spring, Huma, Gu, Cliff, Hammer, Maurten, and Honey Stinger.
