Changed My Neglected Greyish-White Sun Bleached Plastic Trim to Black
I'm reviewing Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant.I just bought a 2015 Highlander with an ugly sun bleached plastic windshield cowl. It was the same color as burned down charcoal briquettes. But after using this sealant it is BLACK.Here are the steps I took:1. I taped off the windshield to keep the rubbing alcohol and sealant off my rainx-ed windshield. (Lesson learned: Apply rainx after the cowl restoration. Not before.)2. I raised the hood.3. From inside the engine compartment I sprayed rubbing alcohol on the cowl and scrubbed it with a dish brush. Then wiped off the crud with a towel. Actually, I had a dish brush screwed onto a long pole from a previous project which worked great. Made it easy to reach the cowl without breaking my back. I cleaned the cowl with the hood raised so I didn't have to take time to protect my hood paint.4. When the alcohol dried the cowl became a dark grey instead of a washed out light greyish-white color.5. I used a small foam brush from a paint store and applied a small amount of the WG trim sealant. This stuff is the consistency of oil. Thicker than sewing machine oil but thinner than olive oil. A foam brush is the way to go instead of spreading it with a cloth. Less product wasted. I spread on a thin coat.6. After about 45 minutes I applied a second thin coat.7. About 90 minutes later I applied a third coat.Putting down 3 coats might be overkill but this cowl was butt ugly before I started and the south florida sun is brutal. This stuff is pricey but a little goes a long way. There is plenty left in the bottle to do other plastic trim on my car.I think the next time I buy a car I'll look for one with less black trim. It's too much work to keep it black in south florida. I'm hoping this product will protect the trim and keep it black longer than cheaper sealants. I'm giving this product 5 stars for initial impressions.

Best sealant / protectant on the market, period.
I've been using this stuff for 20 years on cars and motorcycles and have tried many other things during that time, but I always come back to this. If you park your car inside, this sealant will keep your trim looking new for years. Not sure if it holds true for cars and motorcycles parked outside, but I imagine you get at least a few months of protection and good looks out of it before you have to re-apply it.

This stuff is amazing
Be sure to wear gloves when applying this! Also, I cut a rag (old tshirt, etc.) into a really small piece (5" x 5"); this way, the rag gets saturated and you can reduce the amount of Wolfgang that you use. Afterward, you probably want to wipe down everything with a clean, dry cloth to remove any excess (but I never do lol). My 2018 vehicle has black trim, of which I am not a fan because it fades over time and looks horrible. This stuff, however, keeps the black trim on your car looking brand new. I used it every 2 months for the first year, but then I hadn't applied it in over a year, but when I finally did, it restored the black trim completely. 1 month later, the black trim is still clean, dark (i.e. not dry and gray) and looks great. I also used it on the dashboard and vinyl/plastic trim on the interior, and it looks great. I was a little concerned that car would stink of fumes, but it didn't at all. I purchased a 2nd bottle just in case a supply chain disruption occurs and Wolfgang is no longer available.

Good product, but very pricey
The product pretty much works as advertised, but the price point is very high for a basic automotive product.

Excellent product
Rubber window trim kept causing black lines on the paint. I have tried a lot of products with no improvement. This exceeded my expectations. It actually seals the cleaned surface.

Disappointed
I use other Wolfgang product and like them. I used this on my newer 2022 Ford Maverick, we had some heavy rain in Los Angeles and it washed off giving no protection, Very Disappointed in this product.

Worth the money!
I have used this on my SUV’s plastic trim that goes all the way around the bottom since I purchased my vehicle 3 years ago. It has helped greatly to keep from fading. Easy to use. I put a small amount on a microfiber town and just wipe it on. I’ve also used it on our older Jeep wrangler that has plastic fenders and it is amazing how it brought it back after being dull and dry from the sun. I have also used it with just a sponge. I actually use it on all my trim including rubber gaskets. Amazing product!
