Extremely topical and should be on everybody's reading list
Indie, a Female Vigilante, was an eye-opener for me. I immediately had to rush to the computer to read about "Eve Teasing," and was appalled at what I found. For that reason alone, this book ought to be on everyone's reading list. The story is haunting: Dr. Indie Birwana travels to her home country of India for her father's funeral. While there, her beloved sister is brutally raped, like thousands of other women today in India. Unlike many of the others, this attack was so violent that it spurred an uprising in the country (I assume the uprising is fictional, even though the violence is not.) Indie is caught up in the aftermath of the violence, as is Javed Khan, a "bus cop," as they try to find justice for the victims. The plot--though a little heavy-handed at times--is excellent, and this is definitely a page-turner. It gets a little graphic at times, but since women today are suffering such liberties and abuses, it seems totally appropriate. My only complaint was that sometimes there was just too much exposition and repetition, and a few quirks with the timeline.

A MUST READ!
There are many reasons to read books - a few among them are escape, entertainment, and education. I have read all three of Bryan's previous books and they fall into the escape and entertainment categories beautifully. INDIE educates by bringing to light atrocities being perpetrated on the female population in India at the present time. While the book is fiction, similar stories are in the news all too often. The book is not easy to read because of the subject matter and I am sure was not easy to write either. But, it certainly was instrumental in raising awareness for me and I am sure it will do so for others. Kudos to Bryan for taking on a horrific topic while presenting characters that we admire and cheer for.

Come a Long Way
The author is maturing; this book holds the interest of a reader and is a hard book to put down. As many good authors do, so does this author, as he reveals a long term problem existing in Indie. I investigated the reasoning behind the premises of India and found to my horror the reality of plot. This, then gave me satisfaction with Indie's success.Recent accounts coming out of India reveals the truth contained in this book.

Welcome to India
INDIE succeeds for a number of reasons. Of particular note is Mooney's ability to create clean, crisp descriptions of the various locations our spirited protagonist inhabits. The dialogue is solid, too; there's nothing overly stilted, and the interactions between the characters feels genuine enough to draw in any reader willing to give this a shot. Overall, this is an immersive work, and it's worth checking out.

Powerful Read!
Bryan Mooney's Female Vigilante is not only a well written and powerful story but it also takes on a very real problem. I have to admit I had never heard of "eve teasing" but once I got into the story, I felt compelled to research it a bit and was shocked at what I learned. The story itself is captivating and very life like. It can be graphic at times, but given the nature of the plot, it is clearly warranted. This was a great read and a great eye opener for me. Highly recommended!

Vigilante justice in the spirit of The Brave One
I found Indie to be a fast-paced thriller with a familiar theme. Bryan did an excellent job establishing the stage in India and built an excellent connection to his heroine. Although graphic in the description of assaults and medical procedures, it serves to announce to the world the realities many real people are facing.

A Must Read
As I read the book I couldn't help but think that it was inspired by a true news event that shook the world. The author weaves an interesting twist of vengeance that scares rapists. A compelling story that offers insight into the common occurrence of "Eve teasing".
