The rice is good, a little on the nutty flavor side but that is okay. I like brown rice better than white rice. This was a good value

Mahatma has great organic rices & the white rice is no exception. I use it for fried rice & steamed rice & it cooks up well & tastes great. Really like the price too.

The Mahatma brown rice cooked up beautifully. I was testing my new cook pot and rice is one of those things where you need a tight fitting lid and even heat in the latter stages of cooking. I rinsed the rice as is traditional, but very little starch came out. Old habits die hard and I rinsed 3 times, even though it was clearly unnecessary. The pot performed and the rice came out absolutely perfect. Ever so slightly on the dry side, the way I like it, each grain separate and distinct. With a little fluffing there were no clumps. Not one. Delicious! Then I realized I'd intended to make fried rice with the leftovers and perfect separation was unnecessary. Undesirable even. You want little clumps that fry on the outside and are creamy on the inside. Oops! This is one of the cleanest bags of rice I've ever used. Just realize there may be times you don't want to rinse this rice aggressively. 5 stars
