Bez's Madchester Anthems

Not a whiff of Blur or Oas*s to be found on this collection of absolute TOP BANGERS! Jarvis C*cker is a million miles away from your early 90's squatters rave. Nobody can touch you in your rubber jacket and bucket hat, in't that right our Kev? Seriously though, got this for fathers day and the old man seems to like it.

Amazing songs...takes me back.

After seeing the T.V commercial, it seemed the Madchester Anthems looked like a great album. But I was suprised at how average it sounded. Indeed, alot of tunes that really made the 90's are here - Can you dig it, Papua New Guinea, There She Goes, and Blue Monday from '88. Most of the other tunes are hardly what I would call classics or memorable, but at least I wouldnt class the album as bad in anyway, just a little dissapointing. I think rather than going for genuine classics, Bez has gone for the 'sound' of the 90's, but it hasn't paid off.An average album that had the pontential to be brilliant, for all those who remember the 90's as a great era of music.Instead, The Hacienda Classics is quite good at a look back to the early 90's dance scene, while their are simply loads of other albums that look at the other genres of 90's music.

It was like a time machine. Brilliant...
