My comprehensive review of a camera that has great promise!
I found this camera to be above average, and it has quite a bit of good things working for it. See comments below. My overall rating is a 3.5/5. Amazon only let's me choose 3 or 4, so I chose 4 for the star rating...Overall Construction (4/5):The unit’s base is made of metal, which is nice. It has the feel of sturdiness and because the top component is plastic, the metal secures holds down the unit to any flat surface. The hinge upon which you move the camera is pretty stiff, but I think that’s a good thing so your camera doesn’t flail around if you decide to secure the unit to the wall. The power cable connects via a micro-USB connection, which keeps the device fairly standard. As an additional note, I did like the packaging that this unit came with. It felt like I was opening something nice, but I do wish they had included a microSD card with then unit to record locally.Setup (3.5/5):Online setup of camera via the iPhone app was almost perfect, except for the fact that once you get to the QR code screen, it’s somewhat confusing as to exactly how you are supposed to accomplish the camera to QR code transaction. It feels a bit weird putting the QR code in front of the camera without knowing what the camera is seeing with regards to it’s field of vision. The website for MeShare actually states that you should be about 1.5 feet away, which would be helpful information to include inside the app as well. Additionally, there doesn’t seem to be any mention of user.meshare.com in the box of the camera which totally threw me off.iPhone App (4/5):First off, there is no dedicated iPad app, which saddened me since I’d much rather view the video from a larger screen such as from my iPad, although you could look at things from your computer via the user.meshare.com website. Overall though, I was pretty impressed by the app. You can actually manipulate the camera quite well through the app with things such as software updates, motion detection, alerts, record to my phone, take snapshots to my phone, etc. All in all this product clearly seems to be designed for “mobile first”, which I think is the right trend. I cannot comment on the Android app since I only have iOS devices.Camera (3/5):I have to admit that I am not really qualified to give any sort of expert reviews on camera quality, but I basically compare the camera to my iPhone camera, my Macbook camera, and my baby monitor camera. I will say that this camera is better than my baby monitor, but not as good as the iPhone or Macbook from what I can see. This device has night-vision, but I tried using it as a surveillance camera for the outside by putting it on a window-sill, but the reflection of the glass is all I get at night time! That’s definitely minus 1 star for that alone… Overall the camera picture quality seems average to above average. More than enough for something like a baby monitor. The onboard microphone seems to be average at best, but the speaker (you can actually talk back via the unit’s speakers using the MeShare app) is pretty bad. I tried to talk to my wife through the app and all she heard was Darth Vader-like talking coming out of the unit.Price (3/5):I purchased the device for $119. I think that’s a fair price for a unit such as this, although again, a microSD card included would have been nice. I compare this unit to a baby monitor that we have (Infant Optics DXR-5), which is $100 on Amazon, and the MeShare unit has much more cloud functionality and you don’t have to be “in range” of the unit to work with it. So overall the price is definitely fair for what you get.NOTE:I contacted the company and they were VERY responsive (must be a startup) with regards to my concerns, and they actually have a lot of what I mentioned needs improvement in the works! They pointed me to a blog post of theirs: http://www.meshare.com/blog/meshare-camera-app-updates/ This definitely has the potential of being a 4 to 5 star product.

Two of them work great, the other one only connects sporadically
Well, our neighbor had one which seems to work seamlessly, so we ordered three of them. Two of them work great, the other one only connects sporadically. NONE of the cameras recognize the scandisk memory card, nor provide correct options on the web or smartphone to have them do so. I have tried calling this company several times (MeShare Company)..I am fed up with the lack of response and same recording. SHAME on you, Amazon, for allowing this company to dupe us. I am trying to get a refund via Amazon, from which I ordered these useless cameras.

Good camera for the price
I purchased this camera in order to have a way to keep an eye on my pets while I am away from home. Shipping is super quick; it was delivered to my home the next day without expedited shipping, though I do live in the Urbana-Champaign area where the warehouse is located. Once receiving the camera, set up was super easy. All I had to do was download the (free) Meshare app on my phone, make an account, follow a few simple instructions (power up the camera, wait until the blue light begins flashing, and put a QR code that appears on the screen of your phone just in front of the camera). I notice that other reviews on this camera stated problems with set up, but I was seeing live video in less than 5 minutes while on my lunch break from work! After using the camera for a few weeks now, I am pretty happy with it. The video quality is good, with Low, Standard, and High Definition (LD, SD, and HD) options available. I have noticed that when using the HD option, though the video quality is great, the feed on my phone will end up delayed a few seconds. This doesn’t really take away from the experience when just viewing the feed, but could potentially be a problem when using the camera to interact with someone. When using the LD and SD options, the live feed has no delay that I have noticed and the quality is still adequate. Infrared night vision feature on this camera works great, and though the Meshare camera does not feature pan and tilt, it has a decent field of view, so I have not really felt a need for it while using the camera in my small apartment. Some aspects of the camera that I believe could use some work are the microphone and speakers meant to be used for two-way audio. The microphone on my camera produces too much static to be very useful, and the speakers are very quiet with no way to adjust the volume, though they do work.I have not tried using the microSD video storage, and it looks like the cloud storage is still a work in progress. I plan to update my review once I attempt to use the recording options. I have taken screen shots and recorded video using the in-app options with no problems. These are neat features to have when my pets are in view of the camera. You can also receive notifications on your phone when motion is detected by going to the device settings menu and turning on "push alerts". A snapshot is taken when motion is detected which is a nice feature as well.Overall, this is a nice camera for the price with potential to be even better. I would recommend it to others who are looking for a decently priced camera to keep an eye on their home and pets while away.
