Madly in love with the new Chili Madness
My husband has a copy of the original Chili Madness, but after years of loving use, it is falling apart and needed to be replaced. Along came this new and improved version with 130 additional delicious chili recipes! He can’t wait to roast some peppers and try some new chili varieties on his willing family. And we will eat up every delicious bite!

You won't believe the difference!
If you're anything like me, this book will change the face of your chili forever! I never knew that I was missing out on some of the basics of killer chili, and always assumed I was missing some 'secret ingredient'. My chili was decent, but this book has really helped me take it to the next level. There is so much useful information about the chiles themselves the book would have been worth the modest price to me for the first section alone. From regional favorites to legendary recipes to interesting variations, for the beginning to intermediate chili cook this book is indispensable!

Good
There’s lots of good information in this book and it’s fun to read. The author includes history and comprehensive knowledge about chiles especially for beginners. Only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because many of the recipes are rather the same as many others.

Chili Champion
I bought two copies to use as prizes in a Chili Cook-off. My husband received one of them and has raved about it ever since. It is not just chili recipes but a wealth of information that is useful for any kind of cooking.

The Best Chili Recipes of the 1970s (Needs Updating)
Loved this book's first printing in 1980. All of the outstanding chilis (and 95% of them are) are still here, winners of competitions in the 1970s.. My one criticism is that, when she published the second edition in 2008, Butel did not add much in the way of new chilis. Where are the winning chilis of the 1980, 1990 and 2000s? Not here. Instead she added filler. Recipes like Berry Margaritas and French Silk Pie, which have nothing to do with chilis. The book is 204 pages out of which 35 pages only are chilis (10 of those 35 are for not really chilis as such, such as White Lobster Chili). I'll gladly buy the 2016 version and trash this one when Butel gets to update what's happened in the world of chilis over the last 40 years.

Guests were thrilled with the cook book. I presented the books as prizes for a chili cook off. Not only does it include chili recipes but other dishes as well.
