Great way to start getting into coffee
Perfectly fine for my coffee noob adventures in pour-overs. It's simple to use, easy to clean and is a lovely shade of teal. It's also an inexpensive way to begin my coffee journey.I've found draw-downs to be slower than expected with the supplied papers, but have to confess that I've only been using supermarket pre-ground coffee to date (cue distain and dirty looks).

Coffee filter to make a nice fresh coffee
Bought this as a gift for my son. This can be used at home, work, holiday or take fishing. Easy to use, fits on mug, Easy to clean unlike coffee cafeterias. Also, very versatile as can use anywhere.

Great filter coffee maker
Works as intended. It is big enough to hold probably as much as 35-40g of ground coffee if you are making a large batch. I typically use 25g and there is a lot of space for that.I got the size 2 hoping it would take less pours but it still requires 2-3 topups when I am pouring around 350ml water through. There are some raised lines on the inside to allow some space for the water to filter through on the sides which is a nice addition. It fits over all the mugs I have tried (including my very large 600ml one).It comes with a little scoop with some lines on the inside and numbers which I assume are what it expects the weight to be in grams. That may be accurate if you are using pre-ground coffee but if you're scooping beans with it they aren't accurate. Scoop grabs about 12-14g of beans.

Quick but needs instructions
It can make a lot of coffee very quickly. This is very handy and a lot easier to clean than a French press, however I haven't found any information on the packaging or online listing to say it can or can't go in a dishwasher so I've been hand washing it. The hario is not so light that it's easily knocked over, and it sits on a mug steadily. The filters are very good, as long as you remember to rinse them first as instructed, and it does make it so much easier to compost used coffee and clean up compared to other coffee making devices. The main flaw to the product is that there are few instructions included on use and cleaning, so I did have to do more research than I expected to find the best technique to using it, but once you get the hang of it the process is simple.

If you do it right, you get a great coffee out!
I decided to give pour over a try, and rest my nespresso machine for a while, after watching some of James Hoffmann's videos. I bought a cheap Chinese, hand, burr grinder, this V60 drip cone and a weighing scales. I also, bought the expensive beans from the supermarket, I prefer columbian coffee with my nespresso, so that's what I bought. Weighed out 15g of beans, pre-wet the paper, ground the beans on setting 3 of 5, put the grounds in the wet and warm filter paper, poured the bloom, then the body to a total of 250g. Sat back and tasted the best coffee I've had in years. James Hoffmann really knows his stuff and the V60 delivered. If really good coffee on a budget is what you want, get one of these! After trying the V60 size 02, I liked it so much I even ordered a gooseneck temperature controlled kettle to make the pour more uniform. Yes, I'm an Englishman who now owns 2 kettles, that should get the Americans talking.
