8/20/13It's been about 2 years since I've updated this review (thank you Foroneaudience for getting me on this!) and I have to say that I stand by my original review - Kwikset's Juno Bed/Bath Knob is fabulous. More than once the kids have accidentally locked me out the room, and more than once I've just went and used an eyeglass screwdriver to open the door. The kids have grabbed on and dangled from the knob, the knob has been cleaned by various cleansers to remove sticky fingerprints, paint, chocolate, and whatever else is on my kids hands after eating or going to school, and through daily opening and closing of the door the knob still looks and works just fine. I haven't noticed any scratches, discoloration, or blemishes. This is a great knob for both aesthetic and functional purposes. Highly recommended!!!---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I consider myself a step above novice when it comes to fixing things around the house - I can rescreen a window or door screen, I can put up weather stripping on my windows, and now I can say that I can change door knobs. All you really need is a screwdriver, and within 15 minutes you too can have new door knobs in your house. The Kwikset Juno Passage Knobs are well made, turn smoothly, and most importantly, look good. The privacy knobs come with a small tool that you can use to open the door, should someone lock themselves in (or lock the door and accidentally shut it close behind them). If you happen to lose this tool, you can also use a small screwdriver to open the door, no problem.I will update within a year to update on how well they hold up with two toddlers constantly yanking and playing with them... In the meantime, Highly Recommended!

Replaced old brass finish knobs in my bathroom. Perfect fit, no fiddling required

I needed to find a good knob with a simple lock on it to replace the old one on my bedroom. I didn't need anything fancy just something that I could use to simply lock the door when I wanted privacy and that would look nice and fit into the existing hole already in the door from the previous knob. Well this fit the bill nicely.The brass is clean looking and has a nice grip on it. Good quality for the price paid. It fit perfectly into the existing hole and I didn't even have to change the inner parts already in the door as it fit perfectly with the existing. No need to worry about different sized parts or plates that would have to be constantly tweaked. I just unscrewed the old one and popped this one into place, tightened the screws and the knob worked perfectly. Must have taken about 5 or so minutes for me to complete the process.The knob turns both ways from both sides of the door and the lock works as intended. You can't open the door from either side with the lock in place and you can't lock it from the other side so you can't really make a mistake of locking your door accidentally. It does come with an emergency key that you can use in the hole if you by some chance to have the door locked after you close it from the other end.The only negative for me here is that the screws are located on the other side of the door (side without the lock). Meaning that if someone really wanted to get into the room all they would have to do is unscrew the knob from the other end to remove it. Not sure why they would put the screws on the other side of the knob. Most knobs I have seen have the screws on the same side of the lock for that purpose. That would be the only negative here. It could also be my fault not realizing that you have to also choose a knob that has the screws on the same side of the lock but why they would offer it the other way, is beyond me. Ruins the point of a knob with a lock if someone can just unscrew it if they really wanted to get in badly enough.But definitely a good knob and I'm happy with it. It fit perfectly and works just as well. Just realize the screws are on the other side of the door before your purchase this as that could be a problem for those who want total security with this. If you aren't really worried about someone unscrewing the knob from the other side of the door (I'm not so I'll keep it) then you have nothing to worry about. It's perfect for a simple knob with simple turn lock on it for a bathroom or bedroom door.

Worked well at my house, easy installation.

First of all these locks are for "privacy" not for security; they keep someone from accidentally walking in on someone in the bathroom, but they aren't going to stop a determine individual from gaining access to a room (buy a different lock for that). That being said these locks work well and the internal components are fairly quite which is an added bonus.I installed several of these to replace old doorknobs and I found that if you go ahead and tighten the screws on the knob most of the way before connecting the other side of the knob this makes it much easier to assemble. If you don't do this the angle can be hard to fit a screw driver in.

Been on my door for over a year now with no issues

Lowe's has these, but when I found them on Amazon, they were less expensive. So buying them was a no-brainer. The knob assembly is well-constructed. Seem like decent internals as well. Installation is no big deal if you have done it before. If you haven't, still not hard to do. It looks good and it functions well. Feels solid when I shut the door as well. Definitely a good buy!

Knobs looked good and liked them. However, the "newer" install style leaves a lot to be desired. They tried to make them easy to install, but the overall finished product doesn't look any better than the old style where the screws actually showed. Now you just get a hole.The other MAJOR design flaw is that you really can't get a normal screwdriver to fit the screws because of the wide knob. Someone just wasn't thinking about the design on this knob. You have to hand screw the screws in until you can manage to get a special 90 deg screwdriver in the holes to tighten the screws. The instructions show a much different knob that would obviously be easier to tighten the screws. The knobs should have a way to come off for install, but nothing in the instructions and I couldn't reasonably find a way.

Bought 3 sets of these. Color and quality are very nice. Fairly easy to install if you follow the instructions. Smart key technology is super simple for keying all your locks to use the same key. Had some issues with one door handle but called kwikset and they replaced the part.
