Great Cap, sketchy sharpener
Sharpener Review: Creates a short tip (like on certain new pencils) However, it tends to break the tip a lot when sharpening; it is not very pleasant to use. Also, sometimes it creates a long think tip rather than a sharp point.Caps: They hold onto the pencil very well, though you must have a short tip (can be created with included sharpener). However, they are not very high quality and some are sharp at the tip where the plastic mold broke off.All in all, they do what they are intended to do, save you pencil's tip from breaking off when placed directly in a bag or pocket.

Meh.
I bought a little bag of these at an art supply store yesterday. Not exactly the same brand but it's the same type of point protector. How snug the fit is varies widely due to minute differences in pencil collar thickness. On some of my pencils the protector goes over 1/2 an inch past the collar bottom, only tightly fitting around the point where the pencil tip sticks out the tip end of the protector, defeating its purpose. Works just fine on other pencils though.

INGENIOUS IDEA !!
They don't look like much, but are an absolutely ingenious idea !!! I bought 10 packages !! Putting a cap on all of my sharpened pencils (graphite as well as water color pencils) allows me to throw them in my art bag without the hassle of broken leads and the need to sharpen them when I arrive on site and I'm ready to use them. (Not to mention that my expensive pencils last longer because they don't need to be re-sharpened before I use them. The caps also avoid the mess that broken pieces of lead make of the inside of your art bag, and consequently all of the other supplies you carry.) I think they added the inexpensive sharpener as just a bit of color in a colorless package. =) I gave mine to a local grade school. I personally use the Kum Long Point Pencil Sharpener with Pointer.

disappointment
My son didn't like these. I'm still trying to find the covers he wants. These were not it but nice try.

Simple. Secure. Safe.
A five-star rating for plastic pencil caps? Sure, because the product, simple as it is, does exactly what it's supposed to do. I can sharpen my pencils, cap them, and put them in my pencil case knowing that the points will be ready to go when I need them. My soft side pencil case lives in a backpack along with books, binders, calculators, hard cases and a laptop. Since using the caps I haven't had a broken pencil tip. I write with Blackwing 602s and the caps fit the shaft snug but not too tight and leaving about a 1/2" between the end of the cap and the tip of the lead. The included sharpener is very cheap and does a terrible job; it breaks points and leaves a very rough wood surface. I didn't purchase this item for the sharpener so I don't really count that against the company.

NOT as shown or described
I ordered this for my daughter who loves to draw and has many graphite and color pencils. We first found these caps at local artt stores and arts and craft stores, but for some reason were no longer available. We were happy to find them here at Amazon. I was expecting my order of 3 packages to reflect the picture and discription advertised of twelve caps & a sharpener each. Unfortunately I did recieve 3 packages, 2 containing 6 caps & a sharpener each and 1 containing 5 caps & a sharpener, 19 caps short of what I thought I was ordering. I put them aside for returning, but my daughter found opened and threw out the packaging.

Inelegant solution to a typical pencil problem
First off, let's talk about that sharpener, it's bunk. take out the blade and toss it straight into the recycle bin. Now use the blade in one of your better sharpeners. Now, the protectors work for most pencils, I have a few that they won't fit onto and a few that they are too loose on. But for most of my pencils they fit. On my more narrow pencils, if I've used a long point sharpener, the point protrudes from the end of the cap. On regular sized pencils, this isn't a problem. I use a KUM or E+M wedge most of the time, with these medium length points the cap poses no problems. It does the job. I like it. I wish it were prettier. But functional.

Not as described
I gave it a 5 star rating because the product itself is wonderful. It protects my Colored Pencils as I go back and forth to art class. HOWEVER, the package says 12 are enclosed, when in reality there are only 6 in the package. Very disappointed. I order 3 packages of 12 for 36 tips. I only received 3 packages of 6 for 18 tips. If it's a data entry error in the description, they should be alerted to fix it.
