Beautiful shoes!
My 13yo loves these. They were her Christmas present. They are well made, and so beautiful.

Bright red ballet shoes
Gorgeous shoes.I think a 9 would have worked better.I usually wear a 9 in a shoe that fits this close but because of the reviews I ordered a w0.But I will see elastic in the back inside so they will fit better also you can't thread the ribbons in the back and again I might just add a tiny elastic loop to help.I've always wanted a pair of bright red toe shoes and again these are to die for gorgeous! Also I've read from customers the town of is plastic. Can't prove it by me and I don't dance any more but will be wearing these beautiful shoes to work with a long skirt.Thank you so much!I love them. Also the toebox is a good size.Sincerely,Lydia

Yes, these are real pointe shoes!
What a wonderful surprise! This is actually a real, proper, pointe shoe! Obviously economy. Obviously you need to be a teacher or experienced dancer to make sure it fits properly. They have a proper elastic drawstring and real suede sole. Vamp is high. Box is square and well balanced. This is definitely a full hard shank, slightly arched - good support for a low intermediate student. We will need to add our own ankle elastic. The wide ribbons are sewn on at an odd angle, but easily fixable, and are even burned on the ends! which is amazing! The included pads are high quality silicone as one would expect from a major ballet brand - we may or may not use them, but the important part is that they are usable. Sizing seems good - just don't guess, or go by American sizing! Make sure to trace your foot and measure to the centimeter, then add a half centimeter for your pad, as the shoe is close to the European number size tag inside. Shoes came in a pretty pouch - and although I would prefer a mesh bag, it made my daughter very happy. Being able to buy black shoes and not have to dye them is wonderful! The price is amazing! at about 1/5 the price of a major brand pointe maker. And came in only 2 days! Just wow! Whereas I would not recommend training full time in a shoe like this, it is a perfectly fine performance shoe to use with a solo costume. Overall, this dancer, dance teacher, dance mom, would recommend this brand pointe shoe to anyone with the experience to enjoy safely. Only giving four stars because no one should expect to buy a five-star pointe shoe through the mail without a proper fitting.

On Pointe!
Beautiful Pointe shoes! My daughter wanted to get some black ones for her Halloween Costume as a trapezist. I think it turned out wonderfully. She did wear some silicone big toe protectors to help ease some of the pain.

Great for a costume, wouldn't use them for ballet class
I struggled with the star score for this purchase because I bought them for a costume (Dee Dee from Dexter's lab...yup, should have bought a light color and dyed them, but that's on me, lol) but I have danced en pointe in the past. I'd give these 5 stars for costume and 1 or 2 stars for legit ballet class. And I knew the risks I was taking buying online. I've been spoiled because I've always purchased pointe shoes locally and had shoes professionally fit. I probably never would have considered buying pointe shoes online, unless I was buying a replacement from the same manufacturer for a pair I'd had professionally fit. Before writing this review I had to do a little research online to learn more about the different platform configurations for pointe shoes, because I didn't want to be overly critical...I figured that I only knew the shoes I used and wanted to get more info. I included a photo to show the different in what I'm used to (light pink) vs. these shoes (red) in the platform. These shoes are much wider than what I'd wear to dance class, which was OK for a costume. I was able to get them to fit by drawing the elastic tight. But it was wicked standing en point with these shoes, ouch! I'm guessing mostly because my feet are "Egyptian" shape and these shoes weren't close to what I was accustomed to. Fortunately this was a strange Halloween, nowhere to go, really, so these served the purpose.

Something sharp in the liner
Something sharp was under the fabric liner inside the shoe. I couldn't use them.

Great for home practice and pictures
I'm a student, not a professional, and I enjoy these for at-home practice. They are stiff to start, but daily pointe practice helped me break them in. I am usually a size 7.5-8 but I ordered a 7 in these and I am happy with them. Now that they have broken in, I could argue that they're a tiny bit loose, so be conscious of that. The red satin look is very nice for pictures. All around, I'm not disappointed in these for the price.
