Height can be adjusted to your needs!
I am very happy with this 4-light chandelier from Livex Lighting. I purchased this light to hang over a dining room table.After Googling "how high should a light hang over a dining table?" I learned that 30 to 36 inches is recommended. The Livex ceiling light comes with three lengths of rods: 6-inch, 12-inch and 18-inch. The rods twist together using threaded inserts. Add or remove rods to reach the desired height, keeping in mind that the shade is 10 inches tall.With the shortest rods the light would hang 16 inches below the ceiling, or with all of the rods the total height would be 46 inches below the ceiling. The 18-inch rods worked for me, which put the chandelier at 37.5 inches above the table surface.Thankfully there was no damage from shipping that other buyers encountered. There is only one seam on the shade at one of the corners.If installing in a new location, make sure to pick up a Ceiling Fan Brace from Home Depot which mounts between the trusses in the attic. They are inexpensive at around $20. If replacing an existing chandelier, you are good to go.The rectangular shade has a contemporary style without being too busy or distracting. I found that four 3500K LED bulbs offers the best color without being too blue or too yellow. There is an opaque plastic diffuser on the bottom to prevent harsh reflections on the table. Absolutely love this chandelier!

it's fine, but if you need extensions keep reading
Its a light fixture. Not a lot to wax poetic about. However if you need extensions to get the height correct over your dining room table make sure you order the correct finish suffix. For this fixture the model number ends in -92. The correct part for 6" extensions is 56051-92. The picture on the listing for the extensions is misleading as to color. And for some reason they sell them singly, so order two for this fixture.

Installing Not Easy But Nice When Completed
Like other reviews, the instructions were not very helpful. Once it was up, it looked okay. More narrow than expected and the shade was a little cheap looking. It waves in some spots. But, for now, it will do.

Beautiful way to update our dining room
I have been looking for a rectangular light fixture for our dining room. This fixture is very good quality and looks great. The included installation instructions are a little confusing, but the installation was not too difficult after looking for youtube video.

Better than expected!
Very nice and very easy to install. I didn't freak out and use profanity while installing. So definitely a childchild-friendly light fixture. I would purchase again for installation in a house with children!
