MaeSri Red Curry Paste, 4 Ounce (Pack of 48)

This is what my loxal Thai restaurant uses in their green curry soup and it is excellent. I add this to macaroni and cheese too. Just use less because this can be strong for some people. My only complaint is the cost its unfortunately kinda expensive so this is a luxury item for me.

Masaman curry paste is epic - you can make meatballs over browned garlic and onions, add this to heat activate it- then add mushrooms, potatoes, sweet potatoes, kale -white pepper... seal the instapot, cook for like 12-14 mins...and serve over rice..and add a little siracha ...epic. I love this stuff so much I buy it by the case since it's like $2 vs over $5 in the higher end stores if you can even find it on the shelves. I've subbed meatballs for fish, sausage or beef...but since my 6 year old enjoys the meatballs it's an easy win! GL all!

But be warned I really love spicy food. When I make spicy things about half of my friends complain/won't eat it even though they'll eat anything else I make. As for the whiners we're all in college so they whine that its spicy but apparently not so much so that it is inedible. Those that love spicy food love the curry I make with this. This is also a good way to slip in protein like tofu, beans, etc for a vegetarian since those ingredients are then imbibed with this delicious flavor. If you want to tone it down coconut milk goes great in Thai curries and this one is no exception. I tend to make this one as a crockpot deal. Through in all the ingredients that aren't fast cooking (root vegetables, tubers, meat if you so choose) with this and I generally just use water rather than stock, maybe some canned coconut milk if I am feeling nice to my friends who don't love spicy food, leave it for most of the day. Then through in the fast cooking ingredients (leaf greens, tofu) near the end.

Spicy Disclaimer: If you’re accustomed to buying green Thai chili paste at your local grocery store ( “Thai Kitchen brand)… just know that this is spicier by miles. 🌶️ That being said, really nice flavors! Very rich and made for a flavorful Thai chicken curry. You just might need to add more coconut milk if you’re a bit of a spice-wimp.

After many, many attempts to make my own curry I finally figured out how to make it from scratch. I read an online recipe later that recommended this product. OMG, I am now the curry hero and do not have to slave in the kitchen to scratch make the "secret sauce". Now it is one can of MaeSri to one can of coconut milk, chicken & veg and that is it. Sometimes I'll add a touch of fish sauce when I'm in the mood for a saltier version. Also a spoon of Zylitol sugar substitute and we are in business. Their yellow curry is just as yum!

I am not thai, but this was recommended to me. Flavour wise this is as close to a resturant flavour I can make at home with thai curry paste. A single can is too much for me to use in a single serving, but I have started making larger portions and freezing them for ready made meals.

Highly recommend this brand if you like Thai curry. I have been using this brand for a long time, just remember that it is spicy, use less if you can and you would love it like I do

I swear by this curry paste and the family loves the cooking every time. I will say I do add to the paste with some extra things like lemongrass, ginger and garlic. This is also helpful if you want extra flavour without spice. I've tried many trendy and expensive curry paste brands but this one is the best so far.

Best one I've found so far in life. Dry consistency of paste because it has just the herbs and spices that it should, without any of the rubbish it shouldn't. That means no strange liquids, no strange textures or consistencies, and only great green curry flavour. Can't go wrong with this!
