Can use kitchen trash bags
We bought this trash can for our first child, and loved it we bought it again for our second child. Does not require special bags. We use normal size kitchen bags in the trash. Has a lever that holds the bag in place, so no random falling into the bin. We have a 3 month old and are able to change the bag once a week (he is also watched outside of the house during normal work week). Can hold a lot and no lingering smell. If too full, it can be difficult to pull out of the bin, but it is a great workout and we have conquered it. We keep one trash can in each of the kid’s room and will consider getting another for a different level of the house. It does its job.

Best diaper pail!
It is half the size I thought it would be but holds WAY more than I expected. We take it out approximately once a week when it is full. ZERO smell coming from or inside the pail. It is great quality. Does not easily dent and we have been using it every day for months without any issues with the seal or the bag holder. It is easy to use! I love that we can just use regular trash bags of our choice and not have to hunt for or order special bags. I heard a lot of poor reviews for competing brands like the Diaper Genie but I don’t regret this purchase! It is more affordable and goes on sale often! We live in an apartment and do not produce a lot of trash so we don’t have to take out our primary trash can often so it is convenient for our lifestyle to keep it separate.

Still the Best Diaper Pail Out There – Just Know You’ll Empty It More Often Over Time
We’ve been using the Ubbi Steel Diaper Pail since our daughter was a newborn—she’s now 16 months old. Around 14 months, we actually bought a second one and replaced our original. Not because it broke, but because we hoped a fresh start might help with odor control now that she’s eating solids and having more frequent bowel movements. What I’ve come to realize is that it’s not the diaper pail—it’s just the reality of toddler diapers. When she was younger, we could go 2-3 days without emptying it. Now, we really need to empty it daily or every other day to keep odors in check. That’s just part of the phase.Even with that, the Ubbi is excellent. The steel construction does a much better job of locking in odors compared to plastic pails we’ve tried, and the fact that you can use regular kitchen trash bags is a huge plus—no overpriced refill bags required. I’ve also started putting a small baking soda air freshener at the bottom of the pail, and that’s helped a bit too. After about a year of use with the first pail, I did notice a couple of subtle dents and a small rust mark on the exterior, but nothing that affected performance. Clearly, that didn’t stop me from buying another one!If you’re looking for a diaper pail that’s efficient, easy to use, and looks nice in the nursery, this one is still my go-to.

Absolute Odor Prevention Game Changer
I am the live in care giver for an elderly parent and this works GREAT for incontinence pads! The stainless steel means no foul smelling plastic you can never get deodorized! Also, it takes regular bags. I had tried another diaper pail style can by the bags were a pain since you had to tie off the bottoms and the plastic soaked up every nasty smell. I would highly recommend this trash can for any parent changing diapers, or caregiver dealing with incontinence issues!

Pros & Cons, Comes down to Personal Preference
Probs and cons to this. Pros: Traps odors from diapers and you can use your own trash bags so you don't have to shell out extra $$ on special, brand-specific bags. Cons: not the ~most~ one-handed friendly, and you will be replacing the bag yourself after each full bag. Using normal trash bags may create waste bc they will not be totally full when you take the bag out. Personally, the person I gifted it too really wanted a diaper pale that didn't need the specific trash bags and that's why they wanted it and like it!

Actually works
When I first got pregnant and added this to my registry a lot of older moms told me that the diaper trash cans are useless and don't work, I was told to just throw the diapers outside in the outdoor trash 🙄 like I would have time for that with a new baby as a FTM.But this is amazing, it uses regular trash bags that you can buy anywhere and it's easy to put the bag in. It last me 2-3 days before I have to change it just because of how many diapers I go through. I left the lid open once when I had a poopie diaper in there and I said dear God what is that smell.... Closed it and there was no smell anymore, so great .. I was surprised at at short the trash can was but I got used to it

Best. Diaper. Pail. Ever.
So, just bought our second Ubbi! It is an amazing diaper pail. The first one was gifted for our now 5 year old. We used it all through his infancy and potty training. When we were expecting our second child, we decided it was still good to still use! It holds a lot, convenient to empty and fill and lastly, uses any bag. Now, that our second just turned 1 and had been eating solids more, we decided to buy a new one just for extra sanitation and to help combat smells. So, all in all, the first one lasted 5 years plus! No regrets and we were happy to buy a second one just for extra sanitation and helping to control odor. You won't refer regret this buy.

Better than the Diaper Genie!
I’ve used both the Ubbi and the Diaper Genie, and I have to say — the Ubbi wins hands down. The biggest plus? You don’t need to keep buying special refills. With the Ubbi, I can use any regular garbage bag, which is a huge money-saver over time. It’s made of steel, so it locks in odors way better than plastic diaper pails. I’ve had no issues with smells leaking out, even when the pail is getting full. Super easy to open with one hand and doesn’t feel flimsy at all.Honestly, I wish I had gotten this from the start. Diaper Genie might be a popular name, but Ubbi is the smarter choice for parents who don’t want to get stuck in a cycle of buying pricey refills. Total game-changer!
