I was a bit unsure about the gap. It states plainly "do not gap" on these. The original AC/Delco plugs (31 years old!!!) were set at 0.035. I mic'd them when I took them out and they were a bit wider than that (0.038-0.040), but my guess is that was due to metal vaporizing off the electrodes after 31 years of firing. The new Bosch plugs were all pretty much dead on at 0.050. I left them as is and installed them with a bit of anti-seize then fired it up. Ran just great and seemed smoother. I figured one of the 8 original plugs wasn't always firing since it seemed a bit rough on idle. Not noticing any roughness so far, so maybe that was the issue. Either way, after 31 years the old truck deserved a new set of plugs.
