At last - something I've wanted for years! Excellent tool; avoids the need to perch on ladders.
This is an excellent tool, and is something I have wanted for years, so it’s great that this is now available. It is essentially a pair of secateurs on a long handle, so it is easy to prune high up, or to reach across a border or pond. It extends from just over 1 metre to 3 metres, so is very versatile; I have used it to cut Virginia Creeper and ivy from high up on a wall, to prune large rambling rose bushes and light hedges, and to trim smaller branches on Cotoneaster and Pyracantha bushes. Remember, it is a pruner not a hedge-trimmer, so is not designed to trim tough, woody, bushes or hedges, but it has been excellent for the uses I have mentioned. It has a feature which can grip the trimmed stem, so it is easy to place it down where it can be retrieved, rather than just falling somewhere random. It is well made and easy to use, although it can be a little wobbly when fully extended, but you soon get used to this. Its most significant advantage is that it mostly avoids the need to perch on ladders when reaching high stems, which is very important from a safety point of view, but also saves time as there is no need to repeatedly shift and place a ladder or stepladder, often on irregular ground or in awkward locations. It has revolutionized my gardening! It is also easier and safer to reach when you do need to use a ladder, as it is a one-handed operation, like secateurs. Reaching upwards for a while can lead to aching neck, back and arms, but these are a small price to pay for the safety, speed and convenience! I can think of a couple of minor design improvements, but these do not relate to the actual performance of the tool, which is very good; I intend to contact the manufacturer direct with the suggestions. I thoroughly recommend this tool, for performance, quality and convenience. It was also delivered promptly, with good packaging, instructions and contact details for the manufacturer.

Very useful gardening tool
I wish I bought this tool years ago for tackling my silver birch, wisteria and other tall shrubs. So easy to use. It’s lightweight but very sharp and can cut branches that are pencil thin. Very happy and I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a telescopic pruning tool.

This snapper is easily capable of cutting branches of up to 10 mm ...
Well-made product that is strong enough to cut as necessary and light enough to use with one hand. This snapper can be locked in six different positions, extending its length from 1.8 to 3 metres. Because it is possible to operate with one hand and with arm fully stretched, a person of average height & strength is able to reach branches 5 metres above the ground. This snapper is easily capable of cutting branches of up to 10 mm diameter. Although it states that the maximum branch diameter is 16 mm, I felt it was starting to struggle to cleanly cut branches of 15 mm diameter and won't be trying to cut branches of this thickness again. No instructions were supplied with this product, but it's pretty obvious how it works. However, please note that there is a useful safety catch just above the handle that needs to be released before the cutter blades will open. If you want the snapper to hold the cut branch after cutting, make sure you keep the handle grip firmly closed until you've brought it to the ground. If you don't, the blade is so sharp that the cut branch is likely to fly off.

On the heavy side if you're an older person
Quick delivery, excellent packaging, basic instructions. Positives-it holds the prunings if you use it with red side on the left, cuts quite thick stems but wouldn't chance too thick. Sturdy & well made, head does rotate but only 180 degrees not 360 degrees as I first thought, if you look carefully you can see the joint where it bends (no mention of this anywhere). Negatives- Being elderly it was VERY heavy even when not fully extended so beware you need strong arms, a younger person would be fine. When fully extended arms ached after only a few clips so best to do a whole bush over a few days not all at once. I would say it's very good just to keep on top of straggly bits once fully trimmed. Worst thing of all though was one of the snipping blades ,the searated edge was hollow and leaves and debris permanently kept getting stuck in this hollow and was quite difficult to remove when dry without cutting yourself almost impossible with wet greenery, had to get a knife in there to hook it out. Design flaw I would say but all in all I did like it & would recommend.

So I live in a first floor apartment.
Living in a first floor apartment surrounded by trees usually reducing the amount of light I get and as said tree's are just slightly out of reach of a short pruner I decided to go for something a little longer. Now when using it's a little on heavy side at full extension especially if your reaching out a window (caution advised if your doing the same) so good strong arms are a must but it reaches to approximately 10 feet and now those trees won't need trimming for a while. Quality product highly recommended. Now my little apartment is much brighter and the branches a great deal shorter.

Lasting time
The product did not last long, (4 days).Used for cutting shoot’s from high trees.Although light in weight, found it hard to position when fully extended.Would I buy one again knowing what I know now, probably not👎

Brilliant!!
I wish I had seen this pruner last year! It is brilliant! I received it the next day after ordering and went out into the garden straightaway (in the rain!) to see if it really is as easy to use as per reviews...and it is! One handed use, easily snapped off soft shoots, hawthorn branches, climbing roses etc and made clipping higher strands of virginia creeper so much easier. I already have a lopper (the kind with a rope/ratchet action) but recently found it so heavy to use that even lower branch lopping became difficult. However the Darlac snapper adjustable pruner is perfect. Lightweight and as it uses a single-handed trigger action it is easy to swap hands as and when needed. I am so , so glad I bought this. I even tried it extended to almost 3m and used it to trim high branches on a ball shaped conifer - now I won't need to get a gardener to do it! Would recommend this to anyone who finds their arms tire when using telescopic loppers.
