I've been a long time Van Heusen customer, and have loved some of their shirts. But I've found this brand is pretty hit-or-miss. I either really like a shirt, or I find that it's an odd cut/design and don't like wearing it all. And I've found that the inconsistency isn't tied to pricing. Some of the best I've owned were inexpensive, while the pricier ones (like this one) are sometimes let downs. In this case, I went with an XL which for me is a pretty safe size (sometimes large, depending on the fit). This one was a little too wide in the torso, but a good fit in arm length and overall length. But after one wash and dry cycle, the length had shortened too much, while the torso was still too wide. The result is a shirt that's very boxy shaped, and just doesn't look flattering on my body. I don't think this is an issue of the wrong size. If I'd sized down, I'd have a bigger problem with the overall length and then the sleeves would also be too short. Also, I felt like the amount of stretch on this shirt was less than I've come to expect for modern button-down shirts...but I can't hold that against the manufacture. That was just my own expectation. I think some guys will find that this is just the right fit, especially if you have a short torso, long arms, wider build, and like to wear your shirts untucked. It just wasn't a good shirt on me.

I ordered a medium rather than my usual small due to the slim fit of this shirt. That turned out to be a great idea as the medium fits perfectly in length, chest, and waist. What doesn't fit well are the sleeves. They are so weirdly long. Almost like this shirt was specifically designed to roll the sleeves up rather than wear them buttoned. Otherwise I love the pattern and material. Van Heusen is known for quality shirts and this one delivers.

The Van Heusen men's wrinkle-free long-sleeve button-down shirt offers several compelling advantages, mainly its professional appearance and comfort. But I will have to wash the shirt before I can wear it because of several deep wrinkles that will never “fall out” of the “wrinkle-free/resistant” fabric. (I’ll soon realize if it is wash and wear.) I grew-up with a father who wore Van Huesen shirts, so I was assured of its quality. It’s a strikingly attractive shirt with the flair of an eye-catching design. The smoothness and crispness, especially, stand out to elevate my total look. Stretch fabric is also incorporated to enhance comfortable freedom of movement. I rarely buy fabric with a polyester blend, preferring all cotton, but made an exception for this exceptional long-sleeve shirt. I appreciate the slim fit because so many dress-style shirts of this type are too loose. However, unfortunately, the shirt is too tight around the neck, it buttons but I can’t see myself wearing a tie with it under these circumstances. I ordered a large and wouldn’t consider a bigger size for a baggier appearance. The shade of blue and pattern is lovely. You could wear it for casual business or for a more formal setting. It might be priced higher than a basic shirt but with Van Huesen you can be sure of quality.

Great quality shirt and is very comfortable to wear, though it did fit smaller than expected and I initially could not wear it because it was a little too tight, but it ended up fitting after dropping a few pounds. The colors on the plaid are really nice looking and is a great shirt for work or church

This shirt is a polyester / cotton blend which keeps it wrinkle free. I ordered the Tiger's Eye style in medium and it looks good with khakis, dress pants, and denim. It feels cool which makes for a comfortable shirt in moderate or warm weather. I also ordered the medium which fits me well except in the sleeves. My size in a traditional dress shirt is a 16" neck and 32"-33" sleeve. The neck on this shirt feels like a 16" neck but the sleeves are a good 2" longer than my other shirts, making this a 34"-35" sleeve. The cuffs have two buttons allowing you to compensate for the length somewhat with a smaller diameter cuff but it looks a little bunched up in the arms. I'll be wearing it with the cuffs folded back once or twice. Overall, it's a good quality shirt but if I was trying it on in a store, I would probably pass on it due to the sleeve length.
