When I get a cold, I used to take Zucol- it was my favorite cold remedy. When they disappeared from the shelves, I was reluctant to try another product. Whenever I googled Zucol, this brand always comes up. I don't know if they bought Zucol out or what. It has the same main ingredient, so I figured it was worth trying. While I still prefer Zucol and wish it would come back, this makes a good alternative. I've also mentioned this to a friend and she said she uses this alternatively with some elderberry syrup she makes, and she says it's just as effective as her elderberry syrup (although this is quite a bit more expensive). You take this when you feel the symptoms of a cold coming on (sometimes hard not to confuse those symptoms with regular allergy symptoms). This helps your cold keep at bay- it won't be as severe or as long as those who don't take it. But you can't just order this once you get symptoms... you have to have it on hand so you can take it at the VERY FIRST signs of symptoms. I usually get sick the worst at our house unless I have some of these on hand. I get a giggle when my husband gets sick- he refuses to ever take anything for it. But when I have this on hand, I'm always less sick than he gets. He'll be up at night, not able to breathe. And here I usually get sick the worst, but I've just got a little sniffle. But he still refuses to take anything, and that's his choice.

Bought this in Dec when I was coming down with something over the holidays and desperately sought a remedy. I would wake up with bad sinuses and throat irritation, but would chew these all day and basically all day I would be symptom free. Only at night and in the morning was I reminded that I was still fighting a cold - by the time I went through the whole box I was symptom free -- I know I would've had a full blown cold without it and it was a huge lifesaver. Recently my coworker came in with the flu and I immediately developed sinus and throat problems again - reordered a pack of 2 of these and same deal - while I'm chewing these all day, it's like I'm 100% better - only late at night and early in the morning I suffer from sinus and throat symptoms, which I handle by drinking green tea with honey and lemon. At night I take a swig of Nyquil to carry me over through the morning and all day thanks to Umcka it's like I'm not sick at all. I have been raving about Umcka since Dec and already got 3 people swear to me that I just changed their lives by introducing them to Umcka, I keep joking that they should put me on payroll. I've tried everything else (i.e. oil of oregano) and nothing works like this. Total game changer.

My doctor recommended I try this product to treat my nagging cold symptoms. The taste is good, but the texture is a little gritty. I took this along with ibuprofen and I felt better than I had been, so I think the combination made a difference! I will continue to use this product when I get sick, and I also like that my 8 year old can take this too! Great product!

I use these as soon as I begin to wonder if I'm coming down with a cold. So far, if a cold was on the way, Umcka Cold Care has staved it off. I placed this order to arrive at the motel where I was going to be staying so that I could head off the cold that seemed to be on the way while I was traveling. Love me some Umcka- and it's worked fantastically in the past; colds kicked in a matter of days. As for the flavor, I thought I was eating toothpaste which was not pleasant.

This is a must-have staple at my house. It works! I keep in on hand, and as soon as I feel like I'm coming down with a cold, I start taking this. Works every time! I don't know why more people don't know about it; I tell everyone I know! This actually reduces both the symptoms as well as the duration of a cold, with no side effects.
